La Marquise Luxury Resort Complex

+ Very good food (Did not have bad tasting food once, quality of food also was very good) + Nice room + Friendly staff + Very good beach + Alot of sunbeds to choose at the beach too - cleanliness should be taken more seriously - Beach kind of far (did not mind this either as we like to walk but some would see this as negative) - All inclusive was confusing at times, a lot of things are not included in all inclusive.

For context we usually travel 3 times a year and usually stay in Privilege Diamond club, Royal level etc so feel qualified to comment on the quality & level of service we received at La Marquise. Room We stayed AI in room 4120 Adults only Jr suite pool view. The room is in a lovely position & got the sun on the balcony from afternoon to early evening which made it very enjoyable to enjoy a late beer. The room was well kept by housekeeping & had a bath along with shower cabin. Aircon is supposed to be individual to the room but no matter the set point the room thermostat never showed below 24 which given the weather for our week was a little on the warm side (this was reported & looked at but never followed up) Al La Cartes Jr suite rooms entitles you to the ‘Black card’ which gives you access to Etoile for breakfast which is really lovely to start your day. You also get access to Grill corner, Asian corner & Le Etoile. The menus at all are comprehensive and what he had was excellent in both quality & presentation. Gondola pool bar restaurant Your AI gives you 1 meal here in your weeks stay the food again was excellent but it would’ve been better if it was more of a snack menu rather than a 3 course menu which seemed a little too over the top to get through, I also feel that being AI a lunch snack menu would be better & probably less wasteful . Da Vinci buffet We found the buffet to be really good for both lunch & dinner I’m a particularly fussy eater but always found something we enjoyed, we particularly liked the theme nights, the salads and desserts were also excellent. Luna & Crystal lounge Luna is the roof top bar and very nice for early evening sundowners whilst the Crystal lounge is the place to be for the evening entertainment, ABBA & Boney M tributes were particularly good getting people up dancing. Drink Service could be a little slow but this was no fault of the staff they were all working very hard just didn’t seem enough given the number of guests Staff We found the staff to all be welcoming and friendly, I enjoyed my morning weather chats with the towel man. Special mention to Georgia the captain at Gondola what a wonderful asset she is always happy & smiling more often or not she would bring drinks over without the need to ask, tell her you love her & she’ll tell you she loves you more, people like Georgia really do make your holiday, and I really hope she soon gets time to spend with her husband in the snow. Also special mention to the to the 2 gentlemen who ran the adults only pool bar (apologies for not remembering their names) again their level of service was outstanding and drinks would usually be waiting for you as you approached the bar. Dress code The hotel insists and enforces the dress code of long trousers for gentlemen in the evenings. Now whilst I agree with this policy at the Al a carte restaurants I feel it could be relaxed for the buffet restaurant in favour of smart dress shorts. So would we return? Yes we would we had a wonderful stay and feel happy to recommend
