We stayed at this hotel for two weeks in early June, outside of school holidays. On arrival, the reception area felt very welcoming and was immaculately clean. Check-in was smooth and efficient. However, we had specifically requested a ground-floor room due to mobility issues, but this request was not honoured. The room initially allocated had only a double bed, despite our booking clearly stating it was for two adults and a child. We raised this with the manager, who insisted it was what we had paid for. After some discussion, she eventually agreed to move us to a room set up for three. This second room had twin beds and a very uncomfortable chair bed. The room itself was quite small, with limited storage and no drawers, which made our stay less comfortable. The housekeeping staff worked hard, and we had no complaints about their service. Unfortunately, apart from the reception area, the rest of the hotel did not meet the standard we expected for a 4-star rating. The toilets near the children’s evening entertainment area were often unclean from late afternoon into the evening. Around the pool, sunbeds were dirty and in poor condition, and rubbish bins were not emptied regularly, leading to unpleasant smells near the main pool bar. Empty cups were often left out for hours, attracting ants and wasps. The bar near the kids’ entertainment area was always busy, with long queues for drinks. Ice creams were only available during lunch and dinner in the main restaurant, or you had to pay extra at the shop or beach bar. The beach bar, although part of the hotel, only served soft drinks unless you were willing to pay for alcoholic beverages. Food variety was disappointing. Meat was often served under generic signs like “mixed grill” and lacked variation throughout the stay. The restaurant was poorly organised, with long queues during busy dinner times just to be seated. Both the restaurant and the main bar were too small to comfortably accommodate the number of guests. The TUI rep on site seemed disinterested and stated that TUI does not set the hotel’s star rating. We noticed a number of other guests also expressing dissatisfaction. Overall, we felt the hotel catered more towards other nationalities and didn’t quite meet the expectations or needs of British holidaymakers. Additionally, the hotel is located in a very remote area, with little to do outside of the resort itself. This made it difficult to explore or enjoy local attractions without relying on taxis, the bus or excursions, which added to the overall cost and inconvenience.
