Modern on the outside but lacking the basics.

Stayed for just over a week in June but sadly won't be coming back. Pros: -Good location providing you are mobile. About 5 minutes walk from the beach and shops. - Room is a good size. - Some of the staff are pleasant and the overall appearance of the hotel is modern. - Late check out available for a fee. - Roof terrace is lovely, but there were several days during our stay where we had to get someone to open it as it wasn't open at 10:30 (should be from 10). A good place to avoid the sunbed/towel wars. Cons: - Room cleanliness nowhere near up to standard for a 4*. Unless you ask at reception ,bedding will not be changed and the floors are not mopped. - Breakfast selection is fine but we ate out most evenings. - Upon check in we were given a key and no information (by a lady with short hair) ,while everyone checking in the other side was giving lots of information and directions by Fabio. - We were also told the bottled water in the room is for day 1 only ,and housekeeping only replace it on other days if they 'have some spare'. Which didn't make much sense. - Housekeeping repeatedly entered our room with the do not disturb sign on and a pair of (luckily cheap) earrings went missing. We mentioned this to reception who confirmed hotel policy is that even if the DND sign has blown of the door, if its near a room ,Housekeeping are told not to go in. Sadly after this they came in again later the same day ,and on another occasion when we had booked late checkout. They tried the handle with the sign on multiple times while we were still inside and only left after we spoke louder. - Some staff members clearly don't want to work in hospitality. Several simple questions such as could we get cutlery for the room and was there a courtesy room for late check out were responded to with shrugs ,eye rolls and sighs, and we were spoken to like idiots. - Any issues. Small or more pressing, will take multiple attempts to resolve and you will end up speaking to at least 2/3 people and wasting an hour or more of your time. - Missed dinner one night due to trying to resolve an issue with the room. We weren't given an apology, instead a paper bag of one ham sandwich and two apples was practically launched at my partner across the desk. - Late check out at 6pm is 70 eur. We stayed at the Hovima for Cool Adults previously and this was free... This hotel has real potential and a great location. But the renovations have been done as cheaply as possible, and the attitudes of some staff and the lack of cleanliness let it down. We left feeling like we hadn't had a real break.

After reading the reviews prior to arrival I was a little apprehensive about staying here. However after my week stay as all inclusive I must say this hotel was one of the best hotels I have ever stated at. My partner and I were very pleased with the sizeable rooms which were exceptionally clean, we had our towels replaced every day, bottled water in the fridge was replenished too. All of the staff here were extremely friendly and happy to help, the bar and cleaning staff were warm and welcoming too. The hotel itself is big, the adults area was great, plentiful beds and the pool area itself was also clean. The location of the hotel is great, bus stop right outside, the Costa Adeje market is 2 minutes away as well as being a 5 minutes walk away from the beach with all of the restaurants and shops you’d expect there. Food at the hotel was average for an all inclusive hotel, the breakfast had a huge selection of foods and drinks with fresh fruit and meats to a great selection of pastries. The adults only dining area was a touch. Dinner had different cuisines most nights with a pizza and pasta bar which was nice for those who are not the biggest fans of fish. Overall our stay here was brilliant, ignore the reviews (not like I did) and make the experience your own! Well worth the price and I definitely will be staying here again in the future!

Overall a nice place to stay

Couple of bad points to start, Toilets poolside need a face-lift a good clean, Only used them once I wouldn't again. Mattresses are hard & uncomfortable. Menu is basic, with repeated items ie chilli was on twice in 4 days. The staff are friendly and helpful if you needed them. Poolside bar cocktails €5/6 each and are made correctly. Food is not brilliant limited options, The complex is well maintained & clean, Pool & Surrounding areas are cleaned daily. Insufficient parasols V sun loungers. Suites are well planned included is a free safe. Normally these are €10 per week. Tea making facilities, Aircon works well, Bathroom is all white & spotless. Housekeeping can be done everyday if required. Just leave the hanger on the door. Entertainment every night at 21.00 in the pool bar. 20 minutes walk to Flamingo Beach, or 45 to Rubicon Marina, Tequise market on a Wednesday is worth a visit. Always haggle on the price they expect this. Would I recommend Labranda overall yes I would. Summary. Exceptional clean, with ample hot water,& good water pressure using the shower. A very relaxing place to stay, with well planted mature areas

Great Hotel! Don't hesitate to book!

We stayed at Hovima Suites Costa Adeje (formerly Labranda Suites) as a group of 3 couples for a week at end of June on a half board basis. We had a great time, the hotel was very nice and honestly couldn't fault it. The negative reviews of this place are truly baffling and should be taken with a pinch of salt, especially since it has been taken over by Hovima. We arrived late at night and were met with a bag of sandwiches, water & fruit which was a nice touch. Check in was nice and easy with everything explained perfectly. We only went in the Adults only areas of the hotel and must say it is very well separated, I think the only time we saw children were in the restaurant. The hotel feels very up to date and modern, great rooms, clean and well equipped. We thought the food was one of the best examples we've seen in Europe, with a group of people differing in likings the restaurant always had something for us all at breakfast and lunch/dinner, from fresh pizza, fresh pasta cooked in front of you, cooked to liking steaks, loads of seafood and tons more. We were able to switch our evening meal to lunch on half board which was great. The drinks at the bar very nice and at reasonable cost. The Starbucks is a nice touch next to the bar. The entertainment team were great in keeping everyone engaged during the day. The Spa is also very reasonable and provided us a fantastic service. The rooftop adults only bar is great and has fantastic sea views. After checking out we were given 30 mins in a courtesy room to shower later in the day before travelling which was great in making sure we could enjoy our last day properly. Overall I'd recommend this hotel without hesitation, I think it is a great place to stay in Costa Adeje with lots surrounding it well within walking distance.
