We have returned from a two week holiday to Laguna Beach. There are so many positives about the hotel but also a few negatives. So this is a mixed review: On arrival (which was 1am and we had been travelling for over 12 hours) we were greeted and told we didn’t have a room available for us and were put in the hotel next door. Not a huge issue but not what you want after a long journey. They did have this sorted for us by around 10.00am. The hotel is one of the cleanest I have stayed in. The staff work tirelessly cleaning the indoors and outdoor areas constantly and clearly take pride in this. The rooms are modern and have lots of space, air con and fridges. The pools are beautifully kept and there is no fighting for sunbeds, you could sleep in and go down at 9.30am and still get a bed! The beach is stunning and the sea beautiful. The hill to the beach is very steep so using the Jeep shuttle is advised. The food is what it is in many all inclusives, not the worst and not the best and is very repetitive. The staff are amazing: Abdullah, Samet and the team at the pool bar are super and go above and beyond to make you welcome. The same for the beach bar staff, cleaners and majority of the restaurant staff. However, the animation team were terrible. They literally looked like they would rather be anywhere but there. They didn’t smile, interact well or have much enthusiasm about the entertainment they were delivering. Outside of the hotel is a steep hill so for people with mobility issues it isn’t ideal. The area around the hotel isn’t developed too well and feels unkept and quite scruffy. We visited the Palm Bar and Cafe in the ‘Bazaar market’ around a 15minute walk from the hotel for a change of food and scenery and it was beautiful. The guests are a real mix of Russian, Polish, Czech, English, Turkish. The Polish people were amazing and made up for the lack of entertainment with their friendliness and amazing dancing 🤣
