Official Description

Green Tourism ECO-LODGE In the south west of the island, at 350/400m in altitude, Chamarel is surrounded by the natural park of the Black River gorges, a protected natural heritage site. In this region, the World Wild Life Society has managed to save a number of species from extinction like the kestrel, the pink pigeon, and the green parrot. Lakaz Chamarel Exclusive Lodge is a small ‘boutique hotel' unique and refined in the heart of a splendid tropical garden of twelve hectares, surrounded by the mountains of Chamarel, Lakaz Chamarel is a pearl among the top hotels of the dest. Scattered around the main building, the 20 Rooms & Suites have a different decoration representing the cultural diversity on the Island. Each room declines its ethnic influence in its furniture and its decoration: China, Africa, India, or simply tropical.

Peaceful views and an amazing place to stay

A beautiful place with breath taking views! The staff could not do enough to help you to ensure you have everything you need and more! All of the chalets and villas are located around a hilly area so expect steep climbs! However, the staff are happy to chauffeur you around if you require. There are local trials are around the resort which provides spectacular views of the mountains, sea and village below. For a short stay which provides tranquility and relaxation amongst nature this is a perfect place to visit and stay!

Amazing Lakaz Chamarel Mauritius

Totally blown away by the location which is in a crater and the hotels eco values. The staff were all amazingly friendly and very helpful. Our villa was called Afrika, and it was very large and spacious and very clean. We were shocked to find out that the bathroom/ Shower were in an open air set up. Got used to it very quickly and was an experience showering whilst seeing the stars above. The hotels viewpoint is a must to visit as the views and sunsets are breathtaking. I would recommend that you take the full board option which meant no money being spent on drinks etc. only thing I had to pay for was the Aircon €5 a day. Spending 3 days here was a bit short as I got used to the resort. Well done to Al the staff at Lakaz chamarel 👏👏
