Official Description

Green Tourism ECO-LODGE In the south west of the island, at 350/400m in altitude, Chamarel is surrounded by the natural park of the Black River gorges, a protected natural heritage site. In this region, the World Wild Life Society has managed to save a number of species from extinction like the kestrel, the pink pigeon, and the green parrot. Lakaz Chamarel Exclusive Lodge is a small ‘boutique hotel' unique and refined in the heart of a splendid tropical garden of twelve hectares, surrounded by the mountains of Chamarel, Lakaz Chamarel is a pearl among the top hotels of the dest. Scattered around the main building, the 20 Rooms & Suites have a different decoration representing the cultural diversity on the Island. Each room declines its ethnic influence in its furniture and its decoration: China, Africa, India, or simply tropical.

Amazing experience at a beautiful and very peaceful resort. Great service with welcoming and friendly staff, tasty food and perfect for a vacation in nature with beautiful views and private villas. The experience was even better than most 5* facilities in Mauritius. Would recommend to everyone.

We have just spent a few days at Lakaz. Stunningly beautiful, idyllic, really friendly and attentive staff. Great food. The only regret is that we did not stay longer. Our suites with pool were capacious and luxurious. Loved the wildlife and cocktails at the view bar are unmissable.

The best sunset views and service

What an outstanding hotel! I couldn’t recommend it more, the service, food and facilities were excellent. I unfortunately fell ill during my stay but all the staff were so wonderful, bringing me extra water bottles, tea infusions and changing my food at dinner to sit better with my stomach. I couldn’t have asked for more!! Big shoutout to Juanna, she was very lovely and constantly checked in on me whenever I saw her. All the staff were wonderful, and made me feel well looked after. And on top of all of that, the sunset bar is excellent.

Absolutely Brilliant!

Peaceful, relaxation and hospitality make this one of the best places we have stayed at, anywhere! With a sense that you are isolated from the real world the Lakaz really has got everything. We stayed for 4 nights in a Sea View Suite, Trois Mamelles which is situated high on the hillside with great views. Lovely accommodation with own pool and an outside shower, very funky! The whole experience is made even more fantastic by the staff who have a genuine warmth and cannot do enough to make the Lakaz such a special place. Regrettably we had only 4 nights, would have loved to have stayed longer! Best wishes to all at the Lakaz.
