Official Description

The resort is located on the west coast of the island of Koh Lanta Yai, about 120 minutes from Krabi airport, 150 minutes from Krabi town and 240 minutes from Phuket Town. Shopping opportunities can be found 3 km away in Saladan. Lanta Old Town, the temple, and the Handicraft Village can all be found in the area. This spa resort, which opened in 2006 and was renovated in 2007, occupies about 12 acres of landscaped grounds and sandy beach front, directly beside the Andaman Sea, in a lush valley of the P.P. National Park. There are 78 rooms in total spread over 3 floors. It offers a combination of traditional regional northern décor and design with modern amenities and facilities. It has a lobby, restaurant (open from 6 am until 10 pm) reception (open from 6 am until 11 pm), conference facilities and Internet access, as well as room and laundry services. Parking facilities are available to guests arriving by car. Younger guests are sure to enjoy the playground. All rooms are clean and comfortable, and feature excellent facilities, including a tropical garden bathroom with outdoor bathtub, hairdryer, satellite television, minibar, tea/coffee making facilities, double beds, individually-adjustable air conditioning, safety deposit box and direct dial telephone. Balconies and terraces also feature. Guests may take advantage of the two outdoor swimming pools (including children's pool), free of charge. A pool bar and sun parasols also feature. A sauna, solarium, massage and spa treatments are also offered. Guests are offered a succulent selection of the finest in tasty Thai and varied international cuisine at Rabeanglanta Restaurant. Flying time from Bangkok is about 80 minutes. Transfer from Krabi Airport to the resort is by bus and ferry and takes approx. 2 hours, while from Phuket Airport to the resort by bus and ferry the journey time is about 4 hours.

My wife and I had a swim up room, and it was fantastic. The room was big and it was nice to just plunge right in the pool. The location is good on Long Beach which is perfect for walking in the morning. The breakfast fast food and I love having a sea view when dining.

Disappointing this time

This was our sixth stay at this resort and I'm afraid say it will be our last. It got off to a really bad start and didn't improving enough through our visit to make us think it's worthwhile going again. We were already on the island so booked a transfer for midday to take us to the hotel. At 12:30 I had to ring the hotel from my mobile which is expensive to be told it hadn't set off yet. The people were very unhelpful and eventually it turned up at 1 pm. Our welcome drinks were warm when they were meant to be ice cold and the room area we had requested had been completely ignored. as it was, the room we got was very nice with a plunge pool and very good facilities. The bed was very comfortable, the air-conditioning just about good enough - the outside area was comfortable to sit in exit there were lots of mosquitoes at night. it also seems to have been turned into a package holiday resort as every sunbed was taken. They just wasn't enough to go round which was a shame and we ended up sitting in the bar area to read our books. They've made a complete mess of the middle pool which used to be great but now is just deserted with no furniture or shade around it. A real waste of an opportunity here. Anyway, we only decided to stay one night which was enough for us. The final straw was that I asked for some ice for the room and was charged 60 Baht. We stayed in lots of resorts around the island and this didn't happen anywhere else. Kind of sums the place up this time I'm afraid.

Nice hotel, but star rating and price too high

The location of this hotel is excellent. Right at the beach, and many restaurants and bars nearby. Hotel is set in a very nice garden, and breakfast terrace and sunbathing terrace were nice and clean. We stayed for one week in a room with balcony. It came with large bathroom, and included outdoor shower and tub option. The room is a bit dated. Glad we didn’t choose room by the largest pool. The pool facilities were not used, and were neither easily accessible, nor very nice. The pool for use is situated at the far back of the resort, and is not supplied with sunbeds etc. The breakfast and the buffet dinner we choose once was ok. The spa was not tried, but was not inviting to try either. We enjoyed the stay, but the price and rating of this hotel is too high for what you get.

Nice place to relax and enjoy perfect weather. Clean rooms and hotel. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Good lacation and short taxidrive to walking street. Perfect beach to walk in the morning before breakfast. Peaceful beach- perfect! We like it!
