Legian Beach Hotel

What a fantastic stay! The grounds and gardens are gorgeous and there’s quiet nooks to go and relax. The restaurants are great with lots of choices. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, every single person you pass has a smile and a greeting. Stayed in a Deluxe Pool Villa and have never felt so spoiled, having our own private and good sized pool about 2 minutes walk from the giant comfortable bed. Could cheerfully have never left the villa except to eat.

After the initial mix up with our room we have enjoyed our stay at LBH. We booked a family room which wasn’t available when we checked in at midnight so we were given 2 basic rooms not interconnecting. Having 2 kids this wasn’t going to work. The next morning we spoke to the manager and were given a 2 bedroom villa. Breakfast has everything you could want, location is great and the staff are incredibly friendly. Grounds are kept well maintained.

The Legian Beach Resort has been out go to resort in Bali for some time. We always make it out last stop as it is something we always looked forward to greatly. Sadly on this occasion we were greatly disappointed. Having been to this resort several times we have made our comments on what we used to experience to what we last experienced. We normally book one of the pool villas which come with associated extras including lounge access. On this occasion both my wife and I could not get over the absolute lack of service for the 6 days we were there and the drop in standards. On the first night we were there when I got into bed only to be bitten several times. On checking we found that ants had found their way into the bedding. Worse when we checked the linen it had dirty marks on them. Granted this was quickly rectified by staff. At breakfast it was embarrassing to have to find staff to get service to get coffee. On all previous visits staff were incredibly attentive and always asking if there was anything we required. On one morning we had been seated for several minutes and were asked to move as "someone was sitting there" From the time we entered till the time we left no person came close to the table we were at. I was asked to fill in a survey on how the Hotel was performing on the 2nd day. I was less then complimentary with part of the survey asking if I would like to speak to a management member. I replied yes. Well that was the last I heard of the result of that survey :(. No manager contacted us. We went for dinner one night and had to finally seek out a staff member to get a menu and service. Not good. We were invited to the managers garden party - dress code - smart casual. We enjoy dressing for these occasions. what a waste of time. The theme for this drinks must have been singlet, rugby shorts and thongs. There was no mingling of the management that we saw and after two drinks we left somewhat bemused at the behaviour and total lack of requested dress code. We were equally surprised to find the lounge area which was a really relacing and comfortable quiet place for afternoon drinks is not longer utilised. Instead guests are required to use the beach bar, We found this out by accident as no one informed us at any time where the lounge activities had been moved to the Beach Bar. Once again we dressed as requested - smart casual and once again bemused by the singlet and rugby short and thong theme. The music was so loud you could not hear yourself talk or attempt to have a conversation. seating is limited and an elderly couple struggled to use the bar stools. Interestingly this couple told us how much the standards and service had dropped at the hotel without us saying a word. I could go on but I think you get the drift. The only person worth mentioning was Budi from laundry. We had a small issue and Budi went above and beyond what was expected and deserved proper recognition. On checking out no question was asked if we enjoyed our stay. The only comment from staff was "See you next time to which my wife replied "I dont think we will be back " with a response of "Oh OK" I think this sums up in full how the staff service has dropped so much. We are truly at a loss for what was to be the highlight of our trip turned into the greatest disappointment. For the money we paid for a villa the service was no less than atrocious.

From the moment we arrived at Legian Beach Hotel our experience has been amazing. The staff: Reception (very friendly, welcoming and helpful with any queries); Room and Pool Cleaners (fantastic job guys); Restaurant (so lovely, always smiling and very friendly - the food was beautiful); Grounds Keepers (everything is so beautiful and well looked after); and not forgetting the wonderful people in the Breakfast Room who have all been so attentive and always smiling - breakfast was always plentiful, with so many choices, and always fresh and delicious). Having our own pool (Deluxe Pool Villa) was the icing on the cake. We didn’t use the main pools, just stayed in our own little bit of paradise with our own lounges in our private and gated garden. The Resort itself is across the road from the beach and also backs on to Jl Melasti where there are many cafes (Coffee Corner - the best coffee and Fruit Freeze drinks) and Restaurants (Mozzarella - beautiful meals, and a fantastic Drag Queen Show every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday night…a must do. The Girl/Boys interacted with the crowd, were beautiful and put on a great show). Of course there are sooo many stalls along the street and side streets (same, same, but different) as well as many big stores, money changers, day spas, small corner grocery stores, and tour shops. If you venture across the road to the beach boardwalk, which goes for miles in both directions, there are a sea of beach bars to choose from. We loved our 10 days in Legian. A Huge thank you to everyone who made our time in Bali so relaxing, interesting and fun.

Just checked out of Legian Beach Hotel Bali and wow, I have been to Bali many times, stayed at Padma, Mandira etc and by far I loved Legian Beach Hotel the best, located directly on the beach in Legian. The Pool Villa I just loved, the many restaurants, huge buffet breakfast, multiple pools, the location and the beautiful friendly staff were just amazing. After trying many hotels in Legian on the beach this will now be our forever yearly hotel.
