Subpar visit to Leslie Hotel Miami Beach

The hotel is at a great location on Ocean Drive. It was spring break weekend, so the room rate was VERY high.There were some things lacking., particularly in view of the price. The tub had no stopper, making it impossible to bathe. It also had no tread, making it extremely slippery, a hazard. The room safe didn’t work because of low batteries. The amenities were sparse, no soap in the shower/ tub, just shampoo and conditioner . The staff were helpful, but the amenities were few and the room was not up to «  snuff » upon arrival.

The experience at check in was humiliating, the lady at the front desk was super rude and had a nasty attitude. Problems to get extra pillows and sheets and a lot of internal problems. The hotel has a lot of room for improvement specially with staff that has no human decency with guests.

We spent four nights at the hotel in a King room. The room itself was lovely but we were disappointed because the view from the large windows was a parking lot and alley. The photos showed trees. The receptionist was very curt and told me they only had two rooms which had an ocean, street view. I also wasn't able to use the pool. I cannot go up three sets of stairs due to a knee problem. There is a lift, but it was not working for the entire stay. I did climb the stairs to look at pool when I first got there but it was just too taxing to do it again. I don't know where they got the photos but they are not of the pool I saw. Again, the photos must be from another pool. Water pressure in sink was dismal and the coffee maker only put out tiny espresso cups. There was no microwave in the room (a tiny one was in the basement next to the ice machine). And the hotel does not have a bar as advertised. The staff, except on receptionist, was wonderful, friendly and helpful. There is no beach access across the street. It is a couple of blocks away. If only the receptionist was apologetic... this review might have been kinder.

Overall good, but improvements needed.

Front desk staff, restaurant waiters great and concierge also superb. Gentleman that runs restaurant in the evenings, engaging and motivational with staff, superb at job. Lady who runs restaurant in daytime the opposite. Doesn't engage with customers and bullies staff, who you can see are terrified of her. She spends too much time on mobile phone and eating and drinking. Pool nice and warm, although tiny. Rooms tiny. Well located. Much better hotels downtown that are 20 dollar ride to south beach in Uber, Hilton for example. Be warned, the Leslie change menus and food prices for events. Its already expensive, but becomes extortionate.
