Liberty Hotels Lara

This is our third visit to Liberty Lara. Unfortunately it could be our last. We love sitting on the pier watching the world go by but this year was marred by a group of German guests. These guests would reserve approximately. 20 beds every day on the pier. They would proceed to shout and chain smoke all day. They had zero respect for anyone’s personal space. The bed reserving situation is ridiculous. As a previous reviewer said, piles of lilos are placed on and around sunbeds to secure them for the next day. The food is still very good but there is a different feel to the place. It’s become very unfriendly which is so sad. Avoid if not German.

The service and food in the hotel was amazing! Entertainment definitely needs work and the rooms need to be upgraded. And to be given you’re room on arrival instead of the next day

We stayed at Liberty Hotel for 7 days and loved every second of it. When we arrived we had such a warm welcome, they showed us around and brought us to the room. We stayed on the 7th Floor and had a really nice see vieuw overlooking the pools and garden of the hotel. Only thing was the batroom felt a bit old, but it was very clean! We had the same lady for housekeeping everydag and she was so sweet even when our daughter was going te sleep she tried cleaning the room before or after. The food was good and there was a lot of choice. The waiters really did their best, alsof everybody was very lovely with our daughter. It did not feel too busy in the hotel even tough it was fully booked so we loved that, lots of space near the pool. The entertainment was great, they all had a lovely vibe. And there was enough to do. Special thanks to Ferdi who was really working hard to make sure everybody had a great day/evening. If we ever go back to antalya we probably stay at Liberty again :)

My thoroughly honest review from my recent stay at Liberty Lara- be warned it is long ( but positive!) From the moment we arrived - quite late around 22:15 we were treated amazingly. Our bags were brought in straight for us and taken up to our room. Our room was upgraded to our surprise and we were given a family room which was really spacious and perfect for two adults and 2 children. Whilst filling out some forms we were brought over some drinks of our choice, a champagne, a beer and some apple juice for the kids. We were quite hungry after travelling a long day so we’re pleased to see that there was a late night food service where we were able to grab a few snacks and drinks before heading to bed. Food- The hotel has so many choices for eating. The main dining room that had breakfast, lunch snacks, dinner and late evening snacks. There was a pasta bar that served fresh pasta cooked to order which was so lovely, and right next to the bar so could enjoy a drink and a sit down. There’s a snack bar that serves fresh burgers, kebabs, salads etc made to order as well as a little help yourself window with fried chicken and chips. Next door there is also a pizza station that cooks pizzas made to order which you choose your own toppings. There is also a seperate snack place that does ice cream, waffles and doughnuts in the early afternoon , then late afternoon Sandwhiches and a patisserie. In the evenings there’s also the main resturaunt where you can sit indoors or outdoors- and they have a noddle station which again is fresh to order, as well as lots of grilled meat and fish outside, plus the whole buffet inside too. We tried 2 of the al a carte restaurants- the Turkish we had free with our stay and then we paid €15 euro pp ( the kids were free ) for the Thai. Definitely worth the price as we had 6 courses included in this. Entertainment- I had seen mixed reviews about the evening entertainment so was a bit worried before I came. I really shouldn’t have been, the entertainment was great for us. A main show every night in the amphitheater ( dance groups, circus, etc) and then usually a DJ or karaoke/ bingo etc at the snack bar. There is also a disco that opens late but can’t comment on this as it’s adults only and we were with our young children. We thoroughly enjoyed it- my youngest daughter especially loved the dancing at 8:30 every night before the show would start. Pools- There were 3 pools, an adults only, the main pool and then the kids pool. We sat around the kids pool however for people who want a bit more peace and quiet the adults pool is separate and 16+ only. There is also the main pool that is very large and travels down alot of the resort. All great, and in the main pool there’s activities throughout the day like water polo and Zumba. There first half of the week we managed to get sun beds by the kids pool easily after 11pm, but towards the end of the week we noticed it was a bit busier and by 9 many had already been taken so started to come to the pool a little earlier to get a space. Beach- The hotel has beach cabanas that look amazing. Unfortunately we weren’t able to try one as we knew the kids wouldn’t sit still long enough, but for someone wanting some luxury they looked great. The beach is corned off private to the hotel. It’s not much of a sandy beach though for playing and sandcastles, and the sunbeds get snatched up very fast. Kids club- Both of my kids are young so they didn’t really take part in any activities, but they loved the park and every day they would do face painting which my eldest loved. The ladies were so sweet too and really patient with my 2 year old when she was asking what she wanted. Staff- The staff absolutely made this hotel. I wish I had taken people’s names, but the two that stood out was a lovely man probably in his mid to late 20s who we would see in the breakfast service every morning. He made so much effort with my two young daughters , my oldest (2) used to hold his hand and walk round the dining room. The female lifeguard on duty every day too was so lovely, she would even sometimes get in the pool and play with my girls when other life guards were present. They loved this so much. All the staff were friendly and would speak to you. Everyone is very accommodating. If I had to say a couple of negatives- and these are so minor and will not stop us from booking again but just something to look out for- If you want to do a photography package ( they will come round and ask, along with the sauna) be warned there is a minimum spend. The man told us it was only €15 for a digital photo and so we thought it would be nice to get a couple, which we did communicate. When we came to view them it turned out there was a minimum spend of €150 and some of the packages were upwards of €1000. We had not budgeted for this and therefore left without buying any. Had they have been more upfront in the first place we wouldn’t have wasted our time or the photographers. The shop is also quite expensive- I bought a souvenir snow globe in the evening and when I went to pay it was over £13 , which in most countries would have been at least half for the size. Maybe it was something I could have bartered on price and probably would try next time, who knows. Over all however I would rate this hotel 10/10. I’m already looking to rebook for next year! Liberty Lara Check in was perfect , recognised us as return guests , polite and prompt service from the lady who checked us in, bell boy very help full and very informative , Unfortunately every other visit to reception wasn’t as good , the staff on there need to go on a customer services course , rude , uninterested , and you could hear them talking about you as you walked away sniggering, they let the hotel down , these are the first people you meet at the hotel there’s no room for attitude , some of them are in the wrong job. Room - not too bad, small balcony and bathroom very dated with mould spots. adult pool side view and looking out to sea and pool area and next door’s hotel, Perfect for what we needed always cleaned well , though the wife did get a few mozzy bites at night , we asked at reception for room to be sprayed , again uninterested , we had to source a mozzy plug as we had come without ours another English guest Thank you Tommy ! Staff - as a whole very good Stand outs for us , obviously Mustafa guest relations is a true gent in every way but you need to get a grip of that reception my friend . Niven in the main restaurant and Halil in the beach snack bar is a legend great guy, the girl behind the bar in the lobby ( Merve ) excellent really knows her stuff and is a credit to the hotel , she should be promoted to bar manager at the very least Food - plenty of choices and all catered for although only luke warm. If you want it hot, go there very early or bang it in the microwave and ding it !! BBQ very good The noodle man outside is a must, they are absolutely the best. Restaurant staff as a whole very good , language barrier to what you order to what you get , cleanliness in there at busy times it’s not great with food on the floor and having to ask for tables to be cleared and cleaned so you can use it . Pools - we only used the adult pool on our stay absolutely freezing , just a shame the life guards allowed young children in !! Not ideal in an adults only area . Also some guests reserving sun beds the evening before with LILO’s ( German ) unexceptable And needs sorting Also Alanya from the entertainment team if you must come round chatting at the bar in the afternoon turn your volume down , everyone could hear your every word at the opersite end of the pool and your silly very loud laugh people want quiet that’s why we are in the adults only section . Al a carte Booked the Italian as you had to pay for the Asian now. Staff in there very good , drinks spot on. Now to the food , in a sentence , not very Italian , but very nice what we had could do with a few more Italian classics . The smoked beef was the best thing I’ve eaten all week ! Out and about : All the shops that was directly outside the hotel have been knocked down as illegally built , just the square where the supermarket and pharmacy is left , then On to the strip . The area outside the hotel where the shops were is a absolute tip , broken glass rubble and broken floor tiles , This area really brings the hotel down. We had a trip to land of legends and the market , both recommend . If we had a main gripe it would be other guests not the hotels fault , the rudeness of some nationality’s is shocking ( German ) some of the them are among the rudest people we’ve ever met , apart from one family round the adult pool who was the politest man / family I think we’ve ever met , his countrymen need a few lessons on how to behave on holiday , manners cost nothing !! All in all a good holiday our needs were met but not exceeded , kept our room for four hours as later flight €80 , Sort the reception staff out . Will we return ? Not for a few years No It needs a refit , looking tired in lots of places so ventures new for us.
