Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience at Luxury Guesthouse Opus One, Faro  After thorough planning and much anticipation, we chose this guesthouse for a relaxing stay in Faro following a beautiful and active week hiking along the Algarve coast. Traveling as two couples, we were looking forward to ending our journey with something special – and Luxury Guesthouse Opus One appeared to offer just that, with its elegant presentation and central location.  However, upon arrival, we were informed that our reservation – which had been confirmed and prepaid through Travellink – was canceled due to a supposed issue with the water and sewage system. We had received no prior notice, and were surprised to hear that the hotel was unable to contact us, despite the fact that all necessary contact information was clearly available through the booking platform.  What disappointed us the most was the lack of effort to arrange an alternative accommodation. We were handed a list of other places we could try contacting ourselves, but no real assistance was offered. Being left to find a new place to stay on our own at the last minute felt completely unacceptable.  We are also left with serious uncertainty about whether a refund will actually be processed as promised. We will gladly update this review if and when that issue is resolved.  Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this establishment and hope future travelers do not find themselves in a similar situation.
