Beautiful and friendly hotel. Some of the best service ever experienced. The staff couldn't do enough for you. We were situated at the front gate side of the hotel, the adult side. The hotel runs a free electric buggy service to get guests around. In the 2 weeks we were there, we got to know the staff and quite often, they would pull up as we're walking to make sure we have a lift. We went with breakfast only, which was served in the main restaurant and had everything you need. The choice onsite otherwise was the Restaurant buffet (which was expensive but well catered), the Meal (local food but just step out the back of the hotel on the beach for a wonderful selection of local restaurants at great prices and quality), The Green and Grill which was my wife and I's go to in general, a quality selection of a variety of global meals. Perfect for a pizza or pasta evening. Finally, The Sky Bar which is the premier restaurant onsite. My wife and I had 2 meals there and both were exquisite with great service. The Pools and surrounding location were well maintained. I love that the hotel is themed with cats and dogs for the kids, who are encouraged to take note of where there are Banksy style paintings for a prize. There are plenty of little mousers around the hotel too. I know you are dissuaded from making a fuss of cats overseas but these little boys and girls were customer friendly. The rooms had everything you would need, safe, kettle, great bathroom, solid air conditioning. The TV didn't provide that much but we only used it to catch-up with news. The criticisms are minor, you have to book a place on the shuttle bus to get into Kaho Lak, so not hop on and off. The fare to get a taxi in isn't that much at all. About £5 GBP. We asked for a breakfast box one morning as we were doing the Bond island day and this was forgotten about or at the very least, misunderstood. Also the Spa services are extremely expensive when the beach side at the back of the hotel, offered the same services at minimal cost with the literal view of the beach as you were enjoying a treatment. We visited right at the end of the season and whilst the hotel was fairly busy, quite often it felt like a private holiday. With whole quiet sections to chill out and relax. The gamble being to visit so late in their season. We had rain and thunderstorms which were isolated in the main to late afternoons and evenings. I will go on record as this has been my favourite hotel to visit. I have been to more prestigious locations but the attention and care for sheer customer service was exceptional and thoroughly enjoyable. It was the little touches like having 2 umbrellas on the door outside you room, yes, you will need them at some point. I don't drink alcohol and I this was one of the reasons why we didn't go fully comp. On hindsight, I should have. There was a wide variety of mocktails and non alcoholic drinks for the time there. That being said, the total bill charged to our room was reasonable and fair in the end. There was one lady in the pool bar, we didn't get her name but was constantly smiling and having friendly chats with us. We missed her before we left to say goodbye. This lady is a credit to your company TUI. Hardworking and diligent, working the pool bar by day and then up to the Sky Bar for an evening shift. Says it all about your staff. Please pass on our thanks for the team for your staff efforts in making this a very special holiday for my wife and I. I would go back there in a heartbeat. Felt like I was going home. One last thing, the beach was right at the back of the hotel and spectacular. Some of the most dramatic sunsets I have ever seen and happy memories spending the day relaxing in the 30 degree sea. Wonderful
