Situated in North Malé Atoll, a 45-minute speedboat ride from Male International Airport, Makunudu Island sweeps you into the warm embrace of an original Maldivian retreat. The 6-acre Makunudu Island is a tropical beachfront getaway steps from spectacular dive spots. It features a diving school that provides PADI courses and a water sports centre offering selection of motorize and non-motorize activities. Guests can visit our Aavun spa for relaxing massages or sign up for an excursion to nearby islands and fishing trip. Makunudu Island also has a lounge with library, as well as volleyball badminton and table tennis facilities. In a Traditional Maldivian Style the 36 bungalows have an attached open air private garden bathroom. Rooms are equipped with minibar tea/coffee facilities work desk wardrobe and outdoor sitting area.

Amazing !!!!

We stayed for 5 days after transferring from another resort in the Maldives and were delighted with the intimate, high quality and service that this resort offered. They went above and beyond to allow us to extend our stay at short notice, we just didn’t want to leave!!! Huge shout out to the dive center, particularly Ricardo, Leandro, & Susan. All were brilliant dive masters and provided a real personal touch to us who were newly qualified divers. Their passion for diving, sustainability and the natural world , really shines through, to make this an experience far beyond just dive instruction. They provided a magical and memorable experience, which we won’t ever forget.. Ricardo (one of the dive masters) even went out of his way to send us special underwater videos of things we were unable to capture weeks after our departure. Everyone from the general manager, to the receptionist to the bar and dive staff were superb and very friendly. I can’t thank everyone enough for making this a brilliant holiday and place.

An amazing island - the Maldives as it used to be - incredibly beautiful and natural with a fantastic house reef teaming with life and easily accessible. The staff are, without exception, super friendly and helpful, as is everyone at the dive centre. Food wonderful. The only downside is the patchy wi-fi - but maybe that’s no bad thing! Would definitely recommend. Honor Hoggins

We had a wonderful week at Makunudu island! Absolutely stunning island with amazing snorkelling and diving a few steps away from your room. Leandro our dive master was great, he kept us safe and showed us fab dive spots. Thank you for a great stay!

A wonderful week of great experiences! Absolutely loved the island, the staff, and the diving and snorkelling. Leandro, our dive master was so kind, thoughtful, and went the extra mile for us. It was so good to see that the environment and sea creatures were so well cared for. We learned much from local environmental experts.

Makunudu Island is one of the original and much loved Maldivian island resorts. With only 36 simple and traditionally designed bungalows set amidst lush tropical vegetation each with direct beach access. Superb house reef. Guest rooms are available with queen or twin bedding,sitting area, private garden bathroom with shower,hair dryer, mini-bar, personal safe, IDD Telephone, Writing Desk, tea and coffee making facilities. Restaurant, Bar, PADI diving school, snorkeling, Non-motorised water sports, volleyball, badminton and table tennis and a library with TV are available for our guests.
