Marelen Hotel

I stay at Marelen for 1 week, my room, double superior room, i was alone and family were in another room in the next block but i felt completely safe, the room was lovely, well maintained and the cleaner kept it sparkling, the used towels were changed daily and the bedding twice within the week Greek hand wash, shower gel and shampoo were supplied, they smelt beautiful and i used the hand wash and shower gel rather than what i had taken with me (and i am fussy :)) i tried to buy it for home in the local shops but couldn't find it. the shower water was nice and hot. restaurant, we went B&B and it was amazing, probably the best choices ive ever seen and i have been to some very nice hotels, all very clean, well presented and lovely accommodating staff. we never tried the evening restaurant but you can book for half board when you are there if you want to. Pool area, the main pool was very cold but it was May, nice size and very clean, plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, the pool toilets were lovely so modern, clean and stylish, the only down side was they could do with speakers around the area, not for loud music but back ground music would be nice, the only music came from the pool bar so the far end of the pool could hear nothing. the adults pool was very quiet but nice with plenty of sunbeds. the kids pool was great but the times for the splash fun were very random but my grandson liked it with the water off, again the water was very cold. pool bars, there were 2 one during the day that also had a restaurant, the food, cocktails and ice-cream selection was brilliant, the lady serving was so friendly and accommodating and the man cocktail maker was verrrrry good (passion fruit frozen daquri best ever) the 2nd bar was evening with a very relaxed atmosphere again it was lovely. all the grounds are beautifully kept with friendly staff. the hotel is 2 minutes to the beach, there are very low flying aeroplanes but we loved them so not a negative at all, its a 5 minute stroll to the restaurant's and shops, we never had a bad meal or drink in any we had steaks, Indian food and plenty of Greek, favourite bar that we visited every evening before our meal was Divine Bar, lovely relaxed and friendly owner. We had a great relaxing week and i think Marelen and Kalamaki is one of the friendliest places i have been.

Just returned from a fabulous week here, absolutely perfect from beginning to end. Staff all so friendly and work so hard especially the waiters-always took time to talk to us, even when we saw them at the beach! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the maids came every day. The pools were all brilliant- never any problems finding a sunbed. The food at breakfast and dinner was fantastic so much choice and cooked to perfection. Cannot recommend this hotel enough. A short walk to the beach which is sandy and very shallow. Approx 1 mile up to the centre of town- loads of supermarkets, gift shops and tavernas. The airport cafe is a must for plane spotting! We hope to return next year!

Just returned home after 11 nights in a superior studio (No 412) and found the studio as we expected on researching the hotel. The bathroom was very nice with a good shower, the rest of the studio was equally as good with comfy beds, wardrobe with plenty of coat hangers and the best safe I've seen in many hotels. There was a small kitchen area which was more than adequate for our needs, we enjoyed cheese, onion and tomato toasty's most lunchtime. Prior to arriving we emailed to request an upper floor with a sunny afternoon balcony and this was granted. We spent most of the day after an early morning walk sat at the adult pool which was quiet on our first few days and started getting busier as the month wore on. The weather was lovely apart from one day which was cloudy and cold but we did a lot more walking on that day. We found mid May was ideal for walking and enjoyed long walks every morning before a bit of sunbathing followed by several visits to local restaurants, our favourite being Ambrosia for great food and excellent mythos before returning to have a few drinks on our balcony watching the incoming planes. The gardens were lovely and staff were really friendly, we would return to this hotel.

This is a bit of a late review. I stayed for one week in August last year. We had a lovely time. We mainly sat around the adults pool. There were never any problems trying to get a sunbed. The area was very clean, well maintained with a lovely inviting swimming pool. The beach is a very short walk away & we enjoyed a bit of late afternoon sun there. The rooms were nice. We had two rooms but they were individual in their decor. My children’s room was much nicer with a modern decor. They had a lovely bathroom. My room was quite basic & dated. The bathroom was so tiny & also the bath towels were very small too. I have a gluten free diet & I felt that the hotel was very accommodating to my needs. Breakfast & dinner was good. Everything was labelled & it made mealtimes so much easier for me. Every afternoon we had lunch in the hotel and the food was fantastic. My only criticism was that I have a bit of a sweet tooth & I found that the hotel didn’t cater very well for that. There was ice cream at dinner but it was often very melted with sprinkles in the ice cream & the water that the ice cream scoop sat in was often very dirty & uninviting. I totally appreciate that guests had made that mess & children being the main culprits. However, I felt that the staff could keep on top of it & ensure is doesn’t end up looking so bad. We also really enjoyed the outside bar area. It was gorgeous to sit & enjoy s cocktail & a game of cards. It had a lovely Ambience with some music in the background.

What a fabulous hotel. We had an amazing stay and would recommend highly Hotel is very clean and tidy. Staff were so helpful and friendly. Location is very good, a walk to the nearest town with a selection of restaurants and bars. It is at the end of the runway so you do get a few planes flying over the hotel. Food was varied and very good Snack bar had a good choice and was tasty. Would definitely recommend! Well done to you Marelen Hotel, and the amazing team you have.
