Elite Nightmare

Five bedroom elite nightmare. We’ve stayed at multiple resorts for our annual trip to the area and this was by far the most disappointing. I booked well in advance and requested a cottage location near the front and near resort amenities. I anrrived after a 12 hour drive, and the girls at the check-in desk seemed annoyed to help me - not friendly! They provided me zero information about WiFi, checkout, etc. I also felt deceived by the photos and language ref “water views”- although I requested a view and a cottage near amenities, our assigned cottage had view of a busy road with loud gas station construction noise. The cottage was a full 15 min walk across parking lots to resort amenities. Because we were traveling with toddler children, it was just too far and inconvenient to use any amenities. I paid extra for a home with pool, but the pool pump was not functioning and the water was covered with bugs. We had to call 2x to get it fixed. The first maintenance visit we were told there was nothing wrong with the pump. Later we noted all the neighbors pools functioning properly with water flowing over the hot tub and they had skimmers, so we called again and someone came and actually checked it and fixed it. Still the skimmer took 3 days to arrive. Inside the cottage we found a broken bed platform, handles, and refrigerator shelves. Someone had punched dents in the fridge. The sofa, chair cushions, and living room rug were filthy. The trash bin, outdoor loungers, and blinds were broken. The master bedroom sheets were ripped. For a 5 Bdrm home, there was only a small, sagging 2 person loveseat and 1 chair. There was grill grease on patio blocks drawing flies. The kitchen had no spatula and other primary utensils. There were only a few hangars. I called multiple times to complain and finally got the manager, who was professional on the phone, but unable to resolve anything. I asked to switch residence, but there was nothing they could do until 2 days before departure. By that time I was over it. For the very high price with fees, this was the worst stay we’ve ever had.

Do not stay at the cottages.

My stay was in the cottages may 30th - June 9th. Let me start by saying I have previously stayed in the hotel at this location and had a great experience, but as for the cottages I would never go back. First, the cottages are more like an air BNB, there are no services provided (ie, cleaning, new towels/linens) and this was not explained upon booking. they also do not leave you anything to clean with so if you want to have your unit cleaned there is an extra fee for it..... floors were not cleaned properly upon arrival; our feet were black at the end of the day. furniture was stained and dirty, table chairs had no cushioning left, almost felt like you were going to fall thru them. Had issues with the heat in our spa and it took an entire day and 4 phone calls (with an attitude from the service line (Tori)) to finally have a service technician come on site to turn it on in a matter of minutes. Remotes for TV's were missing batteries, called twice for batteries and did not receive them, finally went out to purchase my own and still had issues with the remotes and TV's. no rear door lock code was given and learned the hard way that the lock will auto lock occasionally, so you better have your front door key so you can walk around the house to get in. So disappointed in Margaritaville for providing such a poor experience. Overall, for the money spent I would not go back or recommend the cottages.......

Loved our Stay at Margaritaville!

Our experience from booking to check out was exceptional. I had an issue with my wristband and they handled it quickly and efficiently. I couldn’t have been more impressed. Mauricio was our server at our cabana and he was exceptional!! I cannot say enough good things about him! We had breakfast onsite every morning and drinks 3 of the 4 nights we were there and it was amazing! Totally recommend. Overall amazing experience! Oh and the music was on point the whole time!!

Unsanitary Room Conditions That Were Never Addressed

For the 2nd year in a row, my son's Cheer team chose this hotel for the Worlds Cheer event. Shortly after check-in, my son contacted the front desk as the shower leaked onto the bathroom floor and the tile was coming up. They sent someone up to the room, but nothing was done about it to resolve the situation and he and his teammates were left to stay in an unsanitary room. As they navigated the tile movement, they found black substance under the tile that reinforced that the problem had been in existence for a while. I made multiple attempts to contact management at the hotel following his stay with no returned phone calls. This of course required countless hours on hold listening to their recording that "customer satisfaction" was their top priority. We have stayed at numerous hotels over the years, and this property will go down as the worst at providing service for an issue during and following the stay! Would highly recommend finding a different property for those visiting Orlando!
