We won’t be back

We’re here now. It’s probably our 12th time here over the last 20 years. It’s the worst by far and we won’t be coming back. It didn’t start well with the member of staff who checked us in. The priority lounge for owners is a nice touch but the staff member was false, condescending and borderline rude. When we told him that we were not going to attend a sales promotion (we’ve had a bad experience before) he just dismissed us and his false politeness disappeared. I’m tempted to name him but I won’t. He said he was “in charge” but I suspect that was a lie. He was disrespectful and quite frankly left us feeling quite upset. There’s no way he should be in a customer facing role. Everything feels cheap. There’s not enough plates / cutlery etc. We’ve had an insect problem which they say they’ve sorted but they haven’t really. The apartment isn’t that clean. Not filthy but not as clean as it should be. The WiFi. Oh the WiFi. Apparently they’re working with a new company. It’s in and out all the time. They don’t appear to care. To be fair we were offered a move but with two neurodivergent children that’s not an option. We need WiFi to book restaurants, Disney stuff etc. It’s not an exaggeration to say you can’t function without it here. It’s an absolute joke and Marriott should be ashamed of the state of it here. But I suspect they won’t be because it’s clear they don’t care what their customers think. So. We won’t be back, ever. I’m convinced there are better MVC places to stay. What a shame after such a long and happy relationship with Marriott Grande Vista.

Avoid, Avoid Avoid!!!

Avoid avoid avoid. 0 hygiene. General management Eahan manger guest services , Lonettee GM and Director Maaike will avoid you at all cost and you will have to spend most of your holiday trying to get in contact with them. They hide the truth of your complaint even if you have video evidence of your hygiene concerns and tell you their is nothing they will do.

We visited in July with teenagers. We have stayed here before while using it as a base for theme parks. This time we just relaxed by the pools and played some golf. Overall the property is fine. Nothing special and it does need an upgrade. The two bedroom apartment is ok but basic and outdated. The pools can get very busy and loud especially in the evenings. I don’t understand why they are now charging an additional fee for parking your car. I think that is ridiculous. Regrettably we found our communication with reception was poor and they seemed uninterested. It’s hard to communicate with them unless you attend at reception in person. The whole place needs updating.

Worst service and management of any Marriott property we have seen

Property is decent (though very dated and not maintained as most MVC properties we frequent), we have stayed there many times. As Platinum MVC members we have stayed at dozens of MVC properties. The service across the board at Grande Vista is, by a wide margin, the worst we have ever seen at any Marriott property. From the management to most of the staff, there is simply no customer service or even attention to basic guest services (the concierge and ticket desk were great, that is it). There is virtually no chance you will every contact any employee including housekeeping, restaurants, front desk, etc. We made a few basic requests for things like blankets and towels--they will route your request to a seemingly unmonitored voice response system that assures you your request is being handled, but it is never handled. The front desk will not take calls for any reason, nor will any of the restaurants/grills that offer delivery or food to go. We had to Uber food from off the property several times as service at the property does not exist. Even standing in the lobby of the Grille restaurant we called the Grille to see what happens--the few employees, with only two tables in the Grille occupied, simply stand there while the phone rings, no thought to even answering it. We have never seen worse service or less management concern for guests at a Marriott. If this were the norm at other MVC properties, we would immediately sell our membership after this experience. We do not plan on returning to this property.

Not really Marriott Bonvoy and it shows

We visited using American Airline miles and discovered each room was not up to normal Marriott standards. The level of quality resembles what you may find in a IHG brand hotel. As we arrived we discovered they want to push time shares. Our check in hostess tried to scam us with false charges and changed our room three times in the 15 minute check in process! Our room was mediocre and the sliding glass door well worn, that is probably how the roach moved in. We say that bug and said ok this is rather expected and we checked out. No one seemed to want to know where that bug was and getting a refund was a lengthy process. I do not recommend this location and please not they are not fully associated with Marriott Bonvoy!
