Not worth the money

We chose this hotel based on glowing recommendations from family who stayed here last year and couldn’t stop praising it. Unfortunately, our experience this time around was vastly different and quite disappointing. The breakfast selection is extremely limited — if you’re not a fan of eggs or pancakes, you’ll struggle to find something suitable. Even then, the eggs were consistently cold and undercooked. Lunch and dinner were enjoyable at first, but the lack of variety became obvious within a couple of days, and the meals quickly became repetitive. If you’re considering visiting during a Turkish celebration week, be aware that local guests are clearly prioritized — from room assignments and housekeeping to food and beverage service. In some cases, dogs accompanied guests and were left barking in their rooms throughout the day, making it difficult to relax if you’re placed nearby. The restaurant environment was chaotic at times, with children riding scooters, running, and splashing water across the floor, creating slippery and unsafe conditions. While the bartenders were friendly, the quality and consistency of the drinks varied wildly — the same cocktail would taste completely different depending on who made it. Worse still, during busy periods, used glasses were merely rinsed with cold water instead of being properly cleaned in a dishwasher. This led to my mother becoming seriously ill during our stay, resulting in significant weight loss over the week. Last year, every guest received welcome touches like fruit platters and wine upon arrival. This time, however, that seemed to be reserved only for Turkish guests, which left us feeling overlooked and undervalued. This hotel has so much potential, but the lack of consistency and poor management in key areas really let it down. It’s left us wondering if it was worth the money we spent

A personal look at the Marti resort hotel

Don’t expect 5* butler service with a’ la carte meals at your finger tips. If you’re realistic with your expectations, you can have a lovely time at this resort. Does the hotel have issues? Of course it does. Whilst the reception / lounge / bar areas are clean and fairly modern. The bar staff have always been friendly and polite. We have never had to wait too long for a drink at any of the bars. In the lounge bar, perhaps do away with the bar stools on one side of the bar to give clear passage to those waiting to be served. The restaurant is a typical “all inclusive” restaurant. They do it their way and we just need to accept it’s not the “English way”. You can always get something to eat. It may not be a belly busting Toby carvery, but you won’t starve. There are lots of reviews about the food, make your own mind up. But for us. There is plenty of stuff to choose from for lots of nationalities. The pools are superb. Plenty of sun-beds (mid June) but that may change as it gets busier. Still people out the with towels on the sun-bed at 07.30. Then turning up at 3pm after a day on the beach to use them. (Unnecessary). Pool / beach towels are available at no charge. The Spa. Offers a range of services, if you want it, the staff are friendly but not pushy. Accommodation. Now the ugly bit. The major down fall is the rooms are very dated and from what we have heard, they are all in a similar condition. The maintenance team are patching over the problems as best they can. To be honest, the only solution would be a renovation, not just a lick of paint. Overall. A good holiday.

absolute shambles

negatives: Absolutely awful. The restaurant staff was absolutely terrible. i would not recommend going here. Had to get our drinks from the bar 80% of the time mid dinner as the sever would only speak to turkish guests. One of the night entertainment philippians was absolutely awful. The food is pretty much the same every night and if you’re a picky eater there’s little to no options. The staff at reception hardly spoke english i had an issue with my room and like 6 individuals came out genuinely felt like being in a zoo. The snack hut was a nightmare. I got a waffle for my kid as the gentleman there wasn’t the nicest to the lady with the “trainee” badge. She was lovely though. they seemed to boss her around A LOT as she seems to be doing all the jobs as the younger men just chats to the lady pulling her from the kitchen when he was more then capable doing it himself. The entertainment staff there are 2 younger ladies there but it seems to be only the boys doing work as the girls sit by the DJ. the boys arranged water polo daily, got people dancing in the evenings, selling bingo tickets loads while the girls just sat there doing absolutely nothing. positives: The only good thing about our stay was the entertainment staff onor and thomas. They were both absolutely lovely and made our stay a little less terrible. The pool party was absolutely amazing. If anyone is coming soon i recommend saying hi to them as they are the only good thing about the resort and i hope they get the pat on the back they deserve. I spoke to a lot of people and they agreed they were definitely a highlight for the resort.
