"Mathis Retreat : 21 rooms and bungalows , encased in a lush tropical vegetation, all decorated and designed for your comfort, blending modern facilities and Balinese tradition for the pleasure. Large rooms and lounges have been created for your relaxation, all equipped with air conditioning, with an area of between 40 and 50 m2, king or queen size bed (twins on request), sofa with terrace or garden rooms Private for bungalows, full bathroom with tub and shower. Possibility to book two connecting Retreat Rooms (adjoining rooms) for up to 5 people. A western professional team and a householder are at your listening from your arrival to departure, available to meet all your needs.

Tranqjuil and pretty boutique resort overlooking the rice fields outside of Ubud's busy centre.

My husband and I had 3 nights in this lovely peaceful resort and loved it. The setting is so tranquil and picturesque. We loved the pool. The restaurant overlooking the rice fields and pool served delicious breakfasts, lunch and dinner and also afternoon tea which is included. Our bungalow was spacious and clean and the bed very comfortable. We did the included green village walk one morning with a lovely staff member and that was a highlight. The staff were so warm and friendly. It is a bit out of the main centre of Ubud (about 10 min by car) which is what we loved, as Ubud is crazy and full of traffic and noise. We definitely plan to return and stay next time we come to Bali. It is also excellent value for money.

Beatiful location and great view of rice fields

Gorgeous location with a stunning view of rice fields. The room was spacious and clean, and the amenities were well stocked as well. The bed was a bit hard for my liking though. Breakfast was served a la carte and the Mie Goreng was especially tasty. The service was great and all the staff were extremely kind. Would definitely recommend!

We are so pleased we choose The Mathis Retreat. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would definitely return. The staff are very accommodating & the setting of the retreat is beautiful yet close enough to town & restaurants in the area. We used the complimentary shuttle into Ubud.
