This superb hotel is located on the picturesque island of Santorini at the sunny Perissa resort. It is only 350 metres away from the famous 10 kilometre-long black sandy beach. This air-conditioned hotel was named after the steady, northerly, high summer wind that hits Greece and the Aegean Sea. Just spent a week at Meltemi Village and can only reiterate previous reviews of the cleanliness and comfort of beds and rooms. We were staying in room 78 furthest from reception, which was not as modern as others but suited us, as authentically Greek. Unfortunately, one of my friends fell 3rd day of the holiday and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance. Alex, the young man manning reception could not have been more supportive and helpful. He contacted Tui on our behalf and also liaised with the hospital and ambulance service - asked if we wanted drinks and bringing ice to put a cold compress on my friend’s leg. Throughout our holiday whilst our friend was in hospital, the reception staff couldn’t have been more supportive or concerned. Many thanks to Ray, Dimitra and Alex and the team for looking after us so well.

A delightful hotel

A very warm, friendly hotel in Perissa around 15 minutes drive from the airport. Situated on the main thoroughfare of the town with a choice of bars and restaurants as well as shops selling beachwear and souvenirs. Also a couple of supermarkets and a laundromat. A short walk from the seafront which is serviced by a huge choice of restaurants and bars and a black sandy beach with plenty of sunbeds as well as water sports facilities. The hotel itself is a pretty selection of whitewashed buildings and well kept grounds with 2 swimming pools There is a good buffet breakfast on offer with tables overlooking the main pool. At the front of the hotel, there is a separate bar which offers different entertainment throughout the week including live musicians and karaoke. The rooms are clean and spacious with modern bathrooms and balconies which are cleaned to a high standard every day. I recommend requesting a quiet room towards the back of the hotel if you don’t want to be disturbed by loud music from the bar which can go on til after midnight. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

The best place to stay in Santorini

We had the most beautiful stay here. It was our first time in Greece and the atmosphere was just beautiful. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and because we booked direct we received free sun bed use on the beach for the duration of our stay, and several other perks at restaurants etc. They also helped to arrange our transfers to and from the hotel and airport. We stayed in a junior suite with our own private pool and it was simply blissful. The staff even spotted me looking at the newborn kittens and picked one up for me to hold. We completely fell in love with the place and we will absolutely come again!

A wonderful and relaxing break

I have just spent a wonderful week at this lovely hotel. Firstly I must mention the staff team, all the staff were friendly, polite and made you feel very welcome . The hotel and grounds were spotless and well-maintained. Breakfast was good with plenty of variety and the food served at the pool bar was nice too. The atmosphere is peaceful and calm and I felt safe and comfortable throughout my stay. I would definitely return to this gem of a hotel. Thank you to you all.

Meltemi Village hotel is a member of Meltemi Hotels and Resorts chain and offers 56 rooms and studios at the most central area of Perissa along the seastrand. It is deeply connected with the island of Santorini, as it was one of the first Perissa hotels that were built. A feature that makes Perissa unique, except the fact that it accommodates the best beach of the island, is the fact that this beach is well protected against summer Aegean winds. In Greek these winds are called Meltemia. The rooms, built in Cycladic style, with comfortable spaces, built furniture and cosy atmosphere, compose the warmth of the unique hospitality of Santorini. The highlight of the hotel is the big pool with the palm trees, that gives an exotic sensation and is one of the biggest among hotels in Perissa. Besides the pool, lies the pool-bar of the hotel where you can have a drink relaxing by the pool or try some of our delicious snacks served during lunch time.
