Good location, friendly staff, poor response from hotel when making contact prior to stay

The hotel is in a great location - we have now stayed here twice in different parts of the hotel and unfortunately both times have heard a lot of traffic noise. The staff are friendly and helpful, we had an issue with our room safe which was attended to promptly. Good breakfast. However we decided to book directly, on comparing prices with hotel direct and a third party booking site, we thought booking direct was slightly cheaper. However, the room was booked for only one adult (not sure how that happened) and so we had to pay additional for the extra breakfast, so it would have been cheaper to book via third party site. And when I tried to make contact with the hotel directly to clarify how many adults were checking in, the response from the Mercure was non existent until I contacted Accor direct, and it was only then that I received a response. It took about two weeks to hear from the Mercure directly, which for a hotel of its size and reputation is very poor. I also tried to contact them via Messenger and it seems that message has never been read after two months. We booked a Privilege room, however the photos on the website are not accurate, there may be a variety of of furniture on the outside balcony because the furniture we had did not resemble the photo and was nowhere near as appealing.

I had such a lovely stay at Mercure Legian! The location is perfect. just a short walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants, but still quiet enough to relax. The room was clean, cozy, and well, kept throughout my stay. I especially loved the pool area, it’s such a nice spot to chill after exploring. What really made my experience great was the staff, they were super friendly, helpful, and always smiling. From check-in to check-out, everything felt smooth and welcoming. Overall, it’s an ideal place if you want comfort, convenience, and warm hospitality in the heart of Legian. Definitely recommend and would love to come back!
