Milaidhoo Island Maldives

This is our seventh trip to the Maldives, and we thought we'd give Milhaidhoo a try. We're so glad we did. In some ways it's like Baros - the owners are the same - but there are some aspects we thought stood out at Milhaidhoo. First of all, the rooms are utterly fabulous - well-designed and huge. We stayed in a beach villa, and had a lovely open view from our beautiful deck. Re. food, as we're vegetarian/pescetarian, sometimes we have issues with choice when we travel, but Milhaidhoo's restaurants are so well balanced. We ate generally at Ocean where options for non meat eaters are thoughtfully put together, and utterly delicious. As for diving, we loved diving with Martina. We were the only divers during our stay, and she was very good at adapting dives so that we saw the things we're interested in. The house reef is pretty good too. The spa team are fantastic and the setting over the lagoon is spectacular. We had several amazing massages listening to the sea. No need for mood music there! All staff were brilliant, but our butler, Lu, must get a particular special mention. She was so lovely, thoughtful, and really went above and beyond to make our stay special. I organised a secret sandbank dinner for my husband's and my anniversary, and Lu arranged this so beautifully for us. We're still talking about it two months later, and are looking forward to our next visit.

Another year, another amazing trip to the Maldives, all seamlessly arranged by Angelfish Travel. Having tried other luxury destinations, we’ve found that Universal Resorts remains simply the best, which is why we keep returning to their properties. For our 2026 trip, we visited both Baros and Milaidhoo. On Milaidhoo, we stayed in Sunset Water Villa #120 once again, and it was perfectly suited to our needs. The team on the island goes above and beyond to ensure a flawless holiday. Our Villa Butler, Abdulla, looked after us impeccably, while the meet-and-greet team at Malé Airport made a stellar first impression right out of the gate. The food and service across every restaurant are outstanding, and the bar team’s skill with mocktails is out of this world—we were continually delighted by their creative mix-ology. The island itself is lush, green, and meticulously maintained. Somehow, they manage to preserve the feeling of being on your own private, remote sanctuary, worlds away from daily stress. For underwater lovers, the house reef, adjacent Milaidhoo Wall, Garden, and Bay are exceptional compared to other resorts. Furthermore, the Ocean Stories Dive & Boat team are absolute professionals—all the dive guides are awesome and always willing to tailor dives to your preferences. What truly sets Milaidhoo apart is the warm, genuine management and staff. From GM Paul ("Mr. P"), and Resort Manager Celine, to Hattey, Joshna, Sahaa, Shaz, Murey and Hayman in the F&B team, as well as Base Leader Dhonbe, Raasy, Niyaz, and Nairika at Ocean Stories, everyone engages at just the right level. We are on a first-name basis with so many incredible people year after year that visiting feels less like a hotel stay and more like coming home to family. In our opinion, Universal Resorts sets the gold standard, and Milaidhoo isn't just another five-star resort in the Maldives, it’s pure paradise!

We visited Milaidhoo to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday, and the entire experience was truly exceptional. A very special thank you to our wonderful butler, Abdulla, and our room attendant, Saud, who constantly surprised us with thoughtful little touches throughout our stay. Every time we returned to our villa, there seemed to be something special waiting for us, which made the trip even more memorable. The team at Ocean; Joshna, Lakshi, Shiyaz, Saaha, Hyman, Alim and Haashim were absolutely amazing. They made us feel so welcome and comfortable every single day. My husband is naturally very shy and introverted, but somehow they even got him talking! They were incredibly friendly and patient with all his questions, and we genuinely enjoyed every interaction with them. The warmth and genuine hospitality of the team are what made this trip so special. Thank you, Milaidhoo, for an unforgettable anniversary and birthday celebration. We left with beautiful memories and already can’t wait to come back!

We had a wonderful stay on Milaidhoo. From the very beginning we found the arrival team at Male exceptional and so organised. We didn’t have to think about a thing. The island is small and beautiful, so green with lovely white beaches. We stayed in a water villa which we loved. We appreciated the large outdoor space and the huge pool and it was so private. Our villa was kept spotless and we loved the bed decorations. We dined in all of the restaurants and they were all fantastic. We especially loved the lunch at Compass bar, perfect for a light lunch. Ba’theli was a great experience and special thanks to Juvain for the excellent service and who took the time to show us the sharks around the restaurant. We were also lucky enough to experience the Taste of Indian Ocean buffet which was outstanding. We appreciated the Sommelier always being around to suggest a great wine for our meals. We also did the wine tasting experience which we loved. We love to snorkel but unfortunately had quite bad weather during our stay so didn’t get to see the beauty of the reef, but I suppose that’s a reason to return! A special thanks to Yenny our Buttler who made our stay seamless and the entire staff who make the island do perfect.

Everything about Milaidhoo was wonderful. The room was clean and tidy. The diving instructor Gobey and Martina provided us with an excellent snorkeling experience. Our butler Yenny offered us very thoughtful and considerate service, making our journey super warm, the best butter ever, we love her!!!!
