Mitsis Selection Alila was glorious. The rooms were well proportioned and contained everything you might need for a wonderful holiday. Good selection in the mini bar/fridge, all included in the inclusive, which isn't always the case and restocked every day. Complementary Raki and sweet sauces to try. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, plenty of storage for clothes. The views to the sea were wonderful from our balcony. Reception staff were efficient, helpful and welcoming. Booking in was completed very quickly for us, even though we were 3 hours late arriving at the hotel and it was after 3am. We were also able to get some hot food from the main restaurant as this is open until 4am, which was very welcome after our long delay at Rhodes Airport. The main restaurant served buffet food, all freshly cooked and delicious, lots of choice, something for everyone. We also know that they have their own dietitian who can help you if you have food allergies, which is a great service for anyone who needs it, it goes above and beyond. We tried the Italian and Ellindiko greek al a carte restaurants for 2 lunches and they were excellent, the Italian was my favourite though. We tried the Wok and Go along with the Tex Mex, both were great. The Creperie was by far our favourite though, the coffee, cakes, pancakes and waffles were to die for and the staff were great, worked so hard and it was open long hours, until 10.30pm. Ideal if you have eaten too much at dinner and didn't have room for pudding, we were able to go the creperie later for sweet treats..... The Beach was great, although a pebble beach the hotel have put walkways down which help, but it is worth taking sandles you can wear to go into the sea as those pebbles are sharp on the feet... Plenty of beds down on the beach and we never struggled to get a pair with umbrella. There was beach serve but very often we would walk to the beach bar for service, just to get some exercise and make room for even more good food. The beach bar was fully stocked and the guys and girls were all very good at their jobs, fresh made cocktails were the order of the day, along with ice coffee....oh and ice cream. There is also wood stove pizza, served all day on the beach, best pizza, along with an American type diner, although the pizza was my go to choice. The adult pool area, with a fresh water pool, was alway busy and you would struggle to get beds, this was not helped by people putting their towels on the beds and then disappearing, although plenty of seating and tables available. The pool was just the right temperature. The salt water UNHEATED pool was very very cold...jumped in and could not get out fast enough, but if that is your thing then great, just not for me. Beds around this area were hit and miss, but that did not bother us as we always headed for the beach as we could always get beds and the service was better and bar was nearer. We did not use the childrens pool area but it looked very good fun with its slides and was well frequented with families and seemed to be enjoyed by all the children. There was a childrens club and crafting was going on, the children all seemed to be having fun, but it did not seem to disturb or affect any of the adults who where without children and it certainly did not both us. There is also a bar near the childrens pool area but we did not use this. We used the all day bar on an evening to sit and play cards, and the drinks were all fresh and delicious, we did later find a bridge room with card tables, but we wouldn't have used this anyway as it was very quiet and away from other activities. The night bar is set outside, which again provided delicious drinks all freshly made. The evening entertainment usually takes place outside by the night bar and this was a good standard and well enjoyed by everyone, although we did have some very windy weather and a couple of the shows were done in the theatre room downstairs, with 2 small bars set up, but again this was all done great and everyone enjoyed the shows and atmosphere. We liked the location of the hotel, as it was near enough to Rhodes Old Town for us to get the bus, just 2.5 euros each way, with the bus stop just a couple of minutes up the road. Rhodes Old Town, well worth the visit. We did not visit Faliraki, although did go to Lindos and the acropolis, again well worth the visit. If you want a nice walk, go up towards Kallithea Springs. You can either walk up the road, or a nicer walk is along the beach to the left and up the track which takes you into a lovely wooded walk at Kallethea, with wild peacocks and the most wonderful wild flowers, we went at just the right time of year to see all the spring flowers at their best. Would I return to Mitsis Selection Alila, yes in a heartbeat and would definitely try any other Mitsis hotel. Fantastic hotel and staff. Keep up the good work.
