Disappointing experience, although the hotel did make an effort to improve our stay Unfortunately, our stay at Mitsis Selection Alila did not live up to the 5-star experience we expected, especially considering the price and the way the hotel is marketed as a luxury family resort. Our biggest disappointment was the food. The main buffet was repetitive and, in our opinion, the quality was simply not what we expected from a hotel at this level. Traveling with children made this particularly frustrating, as they struggled to find food they enjoyed and ended up eating mostly pasta and ice cream. Another issue was the overall feeling of overcrowding and constant queues. There were queues for food, drinks and other services throughout the day. For us, this took away significantly from the relaxing all-inclusive experience we were expecting. The kids club was also surprisingly small. Considering how strongly the hotel caters to families and how many children stay here, we expected a much larger and better-equipped space. The service overall was average. Some members of staff were lovely, but the experience was inconsistent and didn't always feel like the level of service you would expect from a premium 5-star resort. That said, I do want to give the hotel credit for how they responded after we expressed our disappointment. They genuinely made an effort to improve the remainder of our stay, which we appreciated. They arranged a late check-out for us and provided transportation to the airport as compensation. I think it's important to acknowledge that they listened to our concerns and tried to make things right. Unfortunately, those efforts couldn't completely change our overall impression. For the amount we paid, we expected a significantly higher standard of food, service, children's facilities and overall experience. I appreciate the way the hotel handled our complaint, but based on the stay itself, I don't think we would choose to return.

The hotel I wish I'd booked from the start – absolutely incredible We were transferred here as an upgrade from our original hotel and, if I’m honest, we weren’t sure at first whether we wanted to move. Once we arrived, though, we never looked back. This was the hotel I should have booked from the beginning, and I genuinely kicked myself for not choosing it in the first place. The biggest compliment I can give is to the staff. Absolutely amazing. What really stood out was that it didn’t feel forced – there seemed to be a genuine pride in the hotel and in the jobs people were doing. Special shout-out to my guy at the pizza van! We ended up chatting, had a photo together, and he was telling me about how he makes the pizzas and what goes into them. You could tell he genuinely took pride in what he was serving, and those little interactions make a holiday memorable. The same goes for the lifeguards, particularly Lee, who was great to chat to, and the bartenders. Even when you were just waiting to be served, people would actually talk to you and make you feel welcome. One bartender also made me probably one of the best Old Fashioneds I’ve had outside of London! The food was out of this world. The choice was ridiculous – there seemed to be something available constantly, and I definitely ate far too much! I also drank considerably more than I normally do, which probably says something about how much I was enjoying myself. Our room was cleaned, looked after and replenished every single day – not every other day, but every day – and everything throughout the hotel felt extremely well maintained. The gym deserves a mention too. I train regularly and hotel gyms can often be little more than a couple of machines in a room, but this was a proper gym where I could actually complete a full workout. The guys working there were great as well. Most importantly, my wife, my kids and I all absolutely loved it. Finding somewhere that genuinely works for the whole family isn't always easy, but this did. I would book this hotel again in a heartbeat. In fact, the only reason I’m not immediately coming back to the same one is because we love trying different places, so next time I’m planning to book their Selection hotel in Crete instead. That probably says everything: this stay has completely sold me on the Mitsis brand. I’ll 100% be booking with them again. Hats off to the entire team. Genuinely one of those hotels where we left thinking, “Why didn’t we book this from the start?”

την κριτική: An Exceptional Stay in Rhodes A truly wonderful experience at Mitsis Alila Resort & Spa in Rhodes! The rooms are beautiful with stunning views and the service is truly exceptional. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, with excellent high-quality toiletries. The themed restaurants are fantastic while the main restaurant open 24 hours a day gives you the freedom to enjoy something delicious whenever you wish. The beach and sunbeds are excellent and the food by the sea was a wonderful surprise: amazing pizzas that can easily compete with those in Italy, delicious traditional Greek souvlaki, and an incredible hot dog! What really makes the difference, however is the staff warm friendly attentive and always willing to help. Their genuine hospitality and professionalism make your stay even more enjoyable and truly memorable. A hotel that perfectly combines quality excellent hospitality and outstanding facilities.
