Mitsis Family Village

ANOTHER Fantastic holidays at Mitsis Family Village, we spent our holidays here the previous year so coming back felt so familiar, so many staff actually remembered us and gave us a huge hug and a warm welcome, we felt so special, it is lovely to see familiar faces and a big smile on their faces, great start to our holidays. Food was delicious as always (buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner - various delicious food, pizza and kebab on the beach, also very recommended), drinks tasty, rooms very spacious and clean, fabulous housekeeping service (always with a smile on their face, unbelieavable in such hot weather, 5 * to them :-), fabulous entertainment programme during the day and evening, all issues were resolved promptly and politely, nothing was a problem, just ask. Beach is clean and huge, no problem finding free sunbeds, which are cushioned, so very comfortable, bar and food available on the beach, service was fast. Honestly, the whole team was marvellous, but of course our holidays would not be perfect without our wonderful Irini Maragou, she is the best from the whole team, she is truly a bright star in this hotel and we returned to this hotel only because of the fantastic approach and service that Irina gave us the year before. This time she was as fabulous as ever, very caring, understanding and helpful to her guests, she has a heart of gold and this hotel would not be the same without her. We have a Mentor Level of Mitsis Loyalty programme so we received lovely welcome gift in our rooms (bottle of sparkly wine and a plate of fresh fruits), leaving gift and also anniversary gift (cake and sparkly wine) so applying for their loyalty programme is definitely worth it and we recommended it to our fellow guests during our stay. You will feel very special in this hotel and will return, I have no doubt :-)

Our names are George & Francesca lazopoulos Papasideris + 2 kids, We received the room 827 with all comfords needed with a fantastic seaview & a swimming pool in front of our balcony. The personeel at the reception, the restaurnt, room service & other activities was great, kind & friendly. If i could allow myself to mention a few names, I would say Miss georgia at the reception and mr Giannis (+-60 years old) & Katerina a Roma lady at the restaurant.

We just got back from our family holiday. The hotel was recommended to us so we thought we would give it a try. It's a beautiful place, the views are breathtaking. Plenty to do if you would like to but also the best place to relax. One of my children is 13 and he took part in beach volleyball, darts on poolside, waterslides, inflatables in the sea ( 20 euros extra charge for this). We visited the beach a few days, a 5 minute walk down the hill. Plenty of loungers to choose from. There is food and drink offered everyday on the beach which is included in your all inclusive package. Check out the fish in the sea, we used a snorkel and it was great. Take the buggy back up to the hotel reception once you are finished at the beach, it's not far but all up hill. The food is delicious, one pointer would be do some more child friendly options, simple breaded chicken would be a really good idea, my child is a fussy eater and it would have really helped us. Plus alot of guests were saying the same thing. For us the adults we loved it though. The crepe and icecream station is a touch of genius, we all enjoyed them so much. The main feature of this hotel is the staff. From the moment we arrived, which was 1am in the middle of the night, we were made to feel so welcome. Everyone is so hardworking, polite and makes you feel like family visiting. Drjtan and Dimitris were honestly amazing, they are enough to make you want to visit again. Georgia on the reception desk was such a pleasure, she helped my daughter often and was always professional. Jimmy the waiter at dinner always went the extra mile to check we had everything we needed. I didn't come across a single negative member of staff, everyone was lovely. We got back home today and I've already booked for next year. A wonderful family feel hotel.

We went to Mitsis Family Village during October half term, although the resort and island in general were starting to close down for winter, this hotel was exceptional from start to finish, as the week went on you could see the number of guests getting less and less, this didn't stop the hotel from providing a first class service. All of the staff are amazing, if you are looking for a relaxing family holiday, you cant go wrong. Loads of pools, beach is excellent, food for an all inclusive is very good and lots of choice. Its perfect for a quiet family getaway. We also got a free room upgrade which was very much appreciated.

Overall a good All inclusive experience, but we didn't feel we got value for money and missed going to Greek Tavernas for traditional Greek food. The site has 1 family pool that had activities for children throughout the day. We personally found this too noisy and chose the beach every day. We were there at peak school holiday time and sunbeds round the pool were generally full by 10am. At the beach, there were more beds available and they were rarely at full capacity. There is an additional pool with slides and a bar that you can access. But you can't access any of the other hotels on the site unless you purchased special wrist bands. Which, we felt on top of the astronomical cost of the holiday, just wasn't worth it. The down side was that smoking was permitted around the pool and beach. The beach was lovely, small shingle and sand. The water was crystal clear and joy to cool off in. There were quite a few fish, so nice to snorkel in. At the beach you have access to a bar, a Gyros/ salad bar and a pizza bar. The food here was delicious. The staff were friendly, but overworked, the queues for drinks could get quit long. The drinks were fine, not premium spirits, but good enough. The beer wasn't great and you could really taste the difference when you went into Kardemena and ordered a Mythos!! My husband felt he never got tiddly, despite trying to, but I did! There was a good selection of cocktails and staff were always willing to make a drink to your specification. The wine was lovely and the gin and tonics were incredibly strong! The food was OK, we always found something nice to eat, but became a bit repetitive. We had 1 Greek night in 2 weeks, which was such a shame, as this was by far the best food served. There was always grilled fish and a grilled meat option. Tonnes of salad choices and pasta etc. There were a few flies on the food, so not great there. It was busy in the restaurant, you didn't need to dress up, but we always did. People wore shorts and vest tops, swimwear was not permitted- obviously!! The crepes were good, but always long queues. The ice cream was really disappointing, very grainy. The staff were amazing, so hard working and always smiling and helping. Some people were just rude to the staff and treated them like dirt. We were always polite and incredibly grateful of their hard work. The site is quite far away from Kardamena. We hired a car and explored the island, which took away the boredom of being on an AI site for 2 weeks. Kardamena is a lovrly place, lots of shops and bars and excellent restaurants serving proper Greek food! We spoke with people there, who said business was really hard this year, the AI hotels were too expensive so people couldn't afford to spend money outside. He was worried for the local economy. This is really sad and I would recommend you all to spend a bit of money in the local town to support them. There was a bus from the hotel to Kardamena, it was about 2 euro. We loved Kos, such a beautiful island full of beautiful people. This was our first AI and probably our last. This is not a reflection on the hotel, it just doesn't suit our preference. You won't be disappointed staying here, especially if you have young children. The rooms are spotless and cleaned daily. The mini bar is filled every other day. You can buy water at the supermarket on site. The hotel doesn't provide much water for you.
