A fantastic resort

We had a fantastic time at this resort. The staff were all fantastic, the food and drinks were good. The setting was great. We started off in a room which we weren’t hugely impressed with (the balcony area was small and uninviting), asked to change and the hotel obliged, to a room we found much more pleasant. Overall we all had a great time and would definitely return.

Me and my boyfriend recently stayed here for 7 nights and would say this hotel is a 3 star hotel at most. After seeing some bad reviews before we went we were not concerned however after reflecting on our stay we agree with quite a few of the negative reviews which is a shame as some of the issues we had could’ve been easily resolved to make our stay and the hotel better. Upon arrival we had to wait in reception for 45 mins to complete the check in to then be told there had been a “mix up” with the booking and that our room had been double booked so was unavailable. The reception staff were not welcoming and actually came across as rude and unbothered on every encounter we had with them throughout our stay which was disappointing as we had seen reviews beforehand to say how friendly all the staff were so we didn’t think this would be a problem. The pool is cold salt water so barely anyone went in the pool while we were there and when they did it wouldn’t be for long at all, the buffet food doesn’t have much choice and became very repetitive, wouldn’t recommend for fussy eaters. We went to all of the a la carte restaurants while we were there which were nice however due to bad weather on one of the days one of them were cancelled and then not rebooked due to them being full. The crepe and gyros bar were very nice and the beach area had great scenery. The sea was actually warmer then the pool. The hotel had a few shops opposite but other then that was kind of in the middle of nowhere so there wasn’t much to do in the area unless you want to spend most of your day travelling to get to anywhere. We disagree with most of the bad reviews about the rooms as we found them okay but the shower could’ve been better as it flooded the floor after every use. Our first time eating at the beach pizza bar I bit into a bone on my pizza (see attached picture) so we didn’t return there after that. At most of the restaurants, buffet and pool bar the staff were very friendly. The mini fridge in the rooms are completely free and restocked every 2 days which is good. There it really a fight for sun beds in the morning however would recommend getting them before 8 as they are limited. Overall, we were quite underwhelmed and disappointed with this hotel which is a shame as all the negatives could’ve been easily fixed.

We arrived at mitsis rodos maris and were greeted with amazing service and enjoyed the whole time and are having the amazing experience of going to a newer hotel with my partner and will definitely be booking with the mitsis for kos next year !!

Amazing support from reception and all staff. Very clean and amazing service . Would recommend to anyone. Couldn’t be more pleased , was there for ten nights and felt like a very valued customer and would come back . Going to explore some more mitsis hotels definitely . Even got offered a free upgrade to another mitsis hotel in Faliraki which we are currently on the way to !

Wonderful Week At Mitsis Rodos Maris

We had a wonderful week at Mitsis Rodos Maris. We booked a garden view family room and a garden view bungalow and was pleasantly surprised to find both rooms upgraded to a sea view. The mini bar was restocked every day with water, beer, wine and fizzy drinks. Never had an issue getting towels or sunbeds (although they weren't very sturdy) at the pool or at the beach. The hotel setting is beautiful; right on the beach. The beach bar was our favourite, the guys worked so hard serving non stop drinks. The Buffet restaurant has a huge breakfast choice. The lunchtime and evening food does get a bit repetitive but there seemed to be something slightly different each day. Visited the Greek, Asian and American restaurants. The Greek/American was our favourite; beautiful setting next to the beach. The main bar in the lobby had a huge cocktail menu. It did get quite busy in the evenings, but I was impressed with staff offering to bring us drinks to our table, instead of queuing. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially front of house staff in the restaurants and all the bars. Even the housekeeping ladies were friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel, although I would say the rating was more a 4plus rather than a 5* My advice would be to book all the ala carte restaurant (can be done in advance on the app or website), save space in your suitcase by not bringing towels, and spend 10 euro on beach shoes from the shop across the road as they will definitely be needed for a dip in the sea.
