The hotel is located in the city centre, 15 minutes by boat from Malé International Airport. It is also a 5-minute walk from the airport jetty overlooking the Indian Ocean. Well positioned and comfortable.

The previous reviews are all quite old, we were a little dismayed when our tour booked us here before our week long trip, but I have to say we needn't have worried. There has obviously been a good amount of renovation, the rooms all look newly painted, there were new sockets, albeit English, which is good for us, and many of the rooms seem to have new AC units. We were very happy with our stay and booked a day room for when our trip returned before our midnight flight. We were greeted like old friends and are very comfortable relaxing and using the WiFi to write our blog as we have had no WiFi for a week and it's working well. Our trip was fully catered so we had no meals here so I can make no comment on breakfast. The location by the airport ferry is unbeatable and we would have no hesitation about recommending the Mookai or returning.

Most horrible stay I have ever had! The rooms are old and stinky. The Staff and Managment is incredibly rude and unhelpful to any request. No plug to charge the phones. THERE IS NO POOL AVAILABLE for in-house guests. Advertisement on booking platforms are misleading and not true.

Caution: DON'T BOOK THIS HOTEL! The advertisement on the booking platforms is very misleading and does not show the reality. The lady at the reception was incredibly unhelpful and rude and the very old and tiny rooms have a strong smell and don't even provide a plug to charge your phone. Also, the hotel pool the hotel claims to provide for their guests is not actually availabe for guests. It is rented to non-inhouse guests for private use on an hourly basis. Since I have been living in Maldives for many years I know that you can get much better rooms and service for this room rates.

Clouds Restaurant - Serene and great food

My favourite food corner. Great hospitality and great food. Beautiful designs (spend a lot of time watching the ceiling - incredible). View of the Iconic Mosque, Carnival square and the airport in a distance. Their whole mallet fish is a must try. A great tiramisu on the menu, great to finish off .

Good for transit stays… but not recommended for long term stays

There’s only one power outlet in our room. So i have to remove the tv and frdge plug just to charge my other devices. There’s a common area where you can use the dining table and sofa. Internet is not stable. It’s very slow and some times it’s not working. The toilet is very smelly. Room is very old. It doesn’t look like a hotel. This needs a major renovation. Our booking have a free airport transfer. Funny tho, upon check out I was expecting for a “car” for the airport transfer but only to find out that the so-called “airport transfer” is via PUBLIC FERRY. If only I knew I would’ve took a cab to go to the airport. On the brighter side, location is perfect. Near the jetty, and bus stops.
