NAU Salgados Palm Village – All Inclusive

The hotel is immaculate !!! The grounds made us feel like we were in the Caribbean. The rooms are massive and the decor was very cool and modern. We booked a couple of the two bedroom apartments (3102 & 3202) for 5 nights. Top shelf appliances from dishwasher, stove, fridge to coffee machine, no needs were overlooked. THEY EVEN HAVE INDIVIDUAL AC THERMOSTATS/UNITS FOR EACH ROOM. I have never seen that before. Buffet breakfast was awesome and Arlindo making my cappuccino everyone morning is super nice and always smiling. Janaquele made omelets for my wife and her family daily and always had a kind greeting. They have a shuttle to the beach which makes for a wonderful day out and not having to worry about parking. I’m not sure I found any fault with the hotel even the 10 pools are phenomenal, no chlorine smell and crystal clear water. Massive pool/beach towels were always available at reception where Jessica, Rui and Claudia were always friendly and helpful. You need to stay here, we will be back.

The hotel some of the best pools I have ever seen and absolutely impeccable. The children pool made our family vacation such a special place to have fun with our 2 year old. Housekeeping service is flawless: timely and impeccable. The hotel offers the iconic L’Occitane amenities which are 5 stars. I had a massage in the Spa, the facilities are pristine and the pool is AMAZING - but the highlight was my masseuse Virginia who gave me the best massage I ever had and was the sweetest person. The breakfast selection is impressive and recreation staff always made fun appearances for our girl. Reception and lobby staff were helpful and kind. The rooms are spacious and brand new. This was the first stop in our Portuguese vacation and has set a really high bar. Highly recommended!!

We had such a wonderful and peaceful stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff made sure we were well taken care of. Rui at reception greeted us with genuine warmth and shared some amazing travel stories that set the tone for a lovely stay. He went above and beyond to make sure our accommodations were excellent, which we truly appreciated. The restaurant staff were equally kind and attentive, always ensuring we had what we needed. You can tell they take pride in their work and customer service. If you don't want to eat there, there is a local delicious restaurant about 5 minutes away by foot - with fresh seafood. We ate there one night and then also went to Old Town - about 10 minutes away by Uber - which was VERY touristy, loud, and not our vibe. One perk was the trolley service to the beach, which runs frequently and drops you off at the most serene, family-friendly beach. It’s clean, calm, and has everything you need: a great snack/lunch spot and convenient bathrooms, with umbrellas/reclining seats you can rent for half a day $12 euros or full day for $20 euros. We could've stayed there all day but then you do have 10 pools to swim in at the hotel so we felt there was plenty to do. We left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. Highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for a peaceful getaway with excellent service and beautiful surroundings!

Our family is in the middle of our 10 night stay. It is a newly converted hotel from an independent into a Marriott hotel. It is next door to a massive Marriott Convention centre a minute walk away which you can use the shared services (trolly to the beach, spa, restaurant etc…) Here are the pros and cons of what we found. Please keep in mind it was reopened in May 1) Rooms: If you are staying multiple nights, the rooms are amazing. Much more spacious than what the photos even show. We booked a 1 bedroom, but were upgraded to a 2 bedroom. Also includes 2 full bathrooms. Each bedroom had a 65 inch TV, all modern amenities. The shampoos, soaps are all L’Occitaine which we thought was nice. Balcony was massive. Kitchen had a small kitchenette, dishwasher, fridge. Only thing missing was a washer and dryer. 2) Staff: Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. At the breakfast each morning they were very kind to our kids and even made certain foods that were not available that day that they enjoyed. Little personal touches that go a long way. I often communicated by text on the Marriott app to book restaurants, clean the room when we left for the day and it worked very well. 3) Breakfast: plenty of options including omelette bar, Natas, plenty of fruits, yogurts etc… more than enough. 4) Pools: we found from the website the photos didn’t look so great given the dark look, but our kids loved the pools. Several pools of different sizes so they tried them all and kept busy. 2 minute walk to the convention center and there is a pirate boat pool for the kids to play in. We really enjoyed the variety. 5) Access to the beach: we thought it was a negative that the beach was not walking distance, but given this was booked via points we didn’t mind. However the trolly system they had it was very easy to go there and back. Every 30 minutes it was a 7-8 minute drive to the quiet beach. 15 euros for 2 chairs and an umbrella. Some of the areas we provided feedback: 1). Chargers in the room: we are from North America so we only had a few converters. If they had more USB port outlets that would have helped. 2) Kids club: want to specify that the staff were really kind and great. The interactions we had they were really good with being with the kids. Only issue is as each time we went to the kids club, there were no kids so we didn’t want to leave ours all alone. Especially since the kids club was not included like other Marriott resorts we have been to, it was hard for us to justify paying 25 euros each kid for a half day and risking them wanting to leave after an hour since no other kids were there. Either more flexible rates or included in the resort so more kids could come would be great. 3) Beach towels: Little bit of a funny situation. We always easily got beach towels at reception whenever we wanted, but the housekeeping never took them away when they cleaned the room. The towels though for the showers were always replaced. One day we wrapped the beach towels inside the shower towels to try and show we wanted them taken, but instead housekeeping nicely folded them haha. 4) Restaurant selection: We ate once at the resultant and it was good, but for the time being there is only 1. Overall: We had a very good time here. Definitely rent a car as so much to do. So many great restaurants only 10 minutes away so most nights we ate out vs at the resort. Highly recommend coming here. The room was so very spacious and super well equipped, including kitchen, etc. We really liked the balcony, great place to relax in the evening and enjoy the golden hour. The bed was very comfortable, good pillows. Bathroom is nice too, nice products provided for shower/shampoo. Many pools in the resort, with plenty of sun loungers surrounded by palm trees.
