Nautilus

This is a very basic hotel. I had to stay there twice at the start and end of a group tour. If you have to stay there, try and get a room on the first floor as the ground floor rooms are pretty basic and smaller than the ones above. The worst thing though was to come back to my room at lunchtime to find two cleaners . One was getting on with her job but the other one, a thick set young man I would guess in his 30s, was hunched down at my bag trying the combination. I told the manager about this book the young man was still there on my return three weeks later . I’ve also told the group company and hope something gets done. But I somehow doubt it. What I can do though is warn the rest of you.

We really enjoyed this small hotel! The staff were very friendly and helpful, answering questions and arranging taxis and on-site bicycle rentals. The rooms were large and very clean with good, hot showers. The pool was small but greatly appreciated on the hot afternoons! The location is only two blocks away from 5th Avenue and 4 blocks from the beach so an easy walk and a bit quieter, although there are a couple of loud bars nearby so earplugs are advised. The cafe across the street on the corner is an excellent choice for breakfast but the hotel does have complimentary coffee and water.

Good location for exploring the area but very basic hotel with basic rooms, adequately clean. No restaurant or tea and coffee in rooms, there are plenty of places nearby for food and drink. With a little more effort it would be lovely. Suppose you get what you pay for

This was a really nice hotel and was part of a G Adventures tour. The room was nice and spacious, very clean and we had the luxury of having a balcony. The swimming pool was small and I didn’t see anyone use it. The hotel isn’t too far from the centre of town. Was ideal for a two night stop over.
