Official Description

Spectacular surf trip to a paradise island

Sometimes you push the boat out and it doesn't come off but our trip to Niyama was amazing. Accommodation and general facilities were hard to fault bar a few tiny things and the service was perfect - attentive but never intrusive or cloying. All of this would be great for a week or so but on top of what one might expect from a quality hotel there was a proper private left-hand surf break four minutes bike ride from our room with two more waves available via a short boat transfer! We had five solid days of surf, four decent ones and two blown out by wind. My only disappointment was that the windsurf equipment was in a bad a state of repair so I could not go out as some of my fellow surfers did with kites on the two windy days. And the nature! On one of the surf trips by boat I had a quick rest, stuck on a mask and ended up swimming with a sea turtle and two sharks. The next day a pod of dolphins swam close to the lineup as we sat bobbing about. We saw many baby sharks, a turtle and a huge ray from around room and stunning birds and bats as we went about the island. Suffice to say I was not ready to come home after eleven days. It's certainly not cheap but I could not recommend this place highly enough.

Great experience in Niyama, our family of 10 with young children were extremely well looked after by our Thakuru, Gia and Shammu who attended to our every request without hesitation and always with a smile. There was a great variety of food for us to choose from, with the different international buffet nights as well as specialty restaurants to choose from. All in all, a great stay and highly recommend this resort to other families in the future, I would definitely return.
