Official Description

Sitting on the private island of Olhuveli in the Maldives, this tropical haven offers a quiet private retreat to all of its guests. A short 40-minute seaplane ride from Male International Airport will take them from the busy airport to a place where they can relax and have an amazing vacation. As soon as they arrive they can head to the private beach area or enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool. The spa centre is the place where one can pamper his/hers body and de-stress the mind, while those who enjoy some activities can check with the private butlers for guided snorkelling or fishing trips. The romantically inclined guests can opt for a sunset cruise followed by a dinner at the overwater restaurant which serves fresh seafood and premium wines.

We stayed at Niyama Private Islands Maldives for three wonderful weeks with our children from the end of May, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The natural beauty was absolutely breathtaking, as you would expect from the Maldives: crystal-clear water, stunning beaches, and incredible views everywhere you look. The food was excellent throughout our stay, with plenty of options for both adults and children. I especially recommend trying the Jumbo Prawns for lunch—they were absolutely delicious. The pizza was also fantastic and tasted as if it came straight from a traditional pizza oven. What impressed us most, however, was the staff. We have visited the Maldives before and have always experienced great hospitality, but the team at Niyama was exceptionally warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. Every detail seemed thoughtfully anticipated. The children received lovely welcome gifts, including caps and flip-flops, which immediately made them feel special. Housekeeping was impeccable, with our villa serviced twice daily and always kept spotless. Fresh linens, attention to detail, and perfect cleanliness made our stay even more comfortable. A very special thank you goes to Salta, who looked after us throughout our holiday. She was always available, helped organize everything, transported the children to and from the kids’ club, offered helpful recommendations, and made our stay completely effortless. Her kindness and dedication made a huge difference to our experience. We would also like to thank Patrick, our tennis coach. This was our children’s first experience with tennis, and thanks to his positivity, patience, warmth, and encouragement, they completely fell in love with the sport. They are now excited to continue lessons when we return home, which is perhaps the greatest compliment a coach can receive. We stayed in a Beach Pool Villa, which was beautiful and very comfortable. However, with two children who are now 8 years old, we think that next time we will choose a larger accommodation option, such as a one-bedroom pavilion, to give everyone a little more space. Our children were genuinely heartbroken to leave and even cried on departure, which says everything about how special this holiday was for our family. Thank you to everyone at Niyama for creating such wonderful memories. We are already looking forward to coming back.

Our stay at Niyama Private Islands was simply unforgettable. The island is a true paradise – breathtakingly beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly maintained. The service was exceptional from beginning to end. Every wish was anticipated before we even had to ask, and we felt completely cared for throughout our stay. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, professional, attentive, and welcoming. It truly could not have been better. A very special thank you to Zaid. He was always attentive, kind, and extremely helpful. He answered all of our questions, fulfilled every request with a smile, and made us feel genuinely valued as guests. His outstanding service made our holiday even more special. We felt so comfortable and relaxed and will cherish these wonderful memories forever. We highly recommend Niyama to anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable experience in the Maldives. We can’t wait to come back! 🌴☀️💙

An Unforgettable Maldives Experience Made Exceptional by Zaid and the Niyama Team

Our stay at Niyama Maldives was truly amazing, and a huge part of what made it so special was our Thakuru, Zaid. I have visited the Maldives before and it definitely won’t be my last time, but I can confidently say that Zaid’s professionalism, experience, attention to detail, and genuine care were outstanding. He made everything effortless, always made sure we were comfortable, and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. A great Thakuru can completely change the experience, and Zaid is a perfect example of that. His dedication and the way he handles his work truly stand out. Many thanks to Zaid and the entire Niyama team for making our trip unforgettable. The hospitality, service, and kindness from everyone were exceptional.

Amazing Resort

I don’t usually take the time to write reviews—whether positive or negative—but I felt compelled to make an exception for Niyama Private Islands Maldives because our experience was truly exceptional. From the moment we were greeted at the airport through to our departure, every member of staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. The service was consistently warm, attentive, and thoughtful throughout our stay. We were incredibly grateful to receive a complimentary upgrade from a one-bedroom villa to a two-bedroom villa in recognition of my GHA Discovery membership. It was a wonderful surprise, especially as we were celebrating my wife’s birthday, and it created so many additional opportunities for quality family time and special memories together. What stood out most was the attention to detail. From providing bicycles for both the children and adults, to patiently explaining the various dining options and experiences available across the resort, every interaction reflected genuine care and professionalism. The underwater dining experience was unforgettable, the Kids Club was fantastic, and the spa treatment was one of the best hotel massages. The surfing experience was another highlight. A special thank you to Chad and Seth for their kindness, encouragement, and expertise. I’d also like to thank Vlad, who looked after us during our stay and was always available to help with anything we needed. The breakfast team (Ahmed, Sami, Nadessha) were exceptionally attentive, and Bonnie from Tribal, and the same level of excellent service extended to the pool, beach, housekeeping, and every other area of the resort. Housekeeping was particularly impressive. We would often leave for a relatively short breakfast and return to find everything perfectly refreshed and immaculate. The efficiency and attention to detail were remarkable. Having recently stayed at a luxury resort in the Bahamas around six weeks ago, where we paid a similar (if not higher) price without breakfast or dinner included, Niyama represented outstanding value. With the half-board package and the villa upgrade, this was one of the few occasions in recent years where a luxury holiday genuinely felt worth every penny. While still a significant investment, it felt like exceptional value for the quality of experience received. We have always loved the Maldives and have previously enjoyed a wonderful stay at Lux South Ari Atoll, but Niyama delivered something truly special.
