This is a lovely hotel with clean rooms, good food and drinks and this is my second visit. However, as stated in previous reviews this was marred by the dining room experience caused by many small birds flying around the restaurant, landing on tables/chairs occupied and unoccupied, walking all over freshly laid tables and cutlery while the staff seem totally oblivious to their presence. The birds are eating from the guests plates and landing on food wherever possible eating whatever they can before flying off again. These birds know how to open the automatic doors to outside area because they have learned where the sensor is and how to activate it, giving them unlimited access. They fly with lightening speed. We have never witnessed a staff member try to get the birds off a table. Indeed the manager of the restaurant just stands around watching what staff are doing and instead of ensuring the birds are kept away from the buffet area seems to be oblivious to their presence. Having discussed our concerns, We can confirm that senior management are aware of the situation but as the birds are a protected species, say this is difficult. We would love to return to the hotel when the bird situation has been resolved but until then won’t be doing so.
