Official Description

Ocean West is a 10-room boutique hotel and is Nassau's newest luxury hotel and vacation rental superbly situated seventy feet above sea level with breathtaking views of Lake Killarney to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the north. We are an exclusive resort with remote access only for our guests. This resort is located in the western district of New Providence and we are a 5 minute drive from Lynden Pindling International Airport. Located just minutes away from the Cable Beach strip, which features casino gaming, fine dining and exciting nightlife, Ocean West Hotel was once a private residence and construction of this building began in 1989 and was completed in 1993. Renovations to the residence began in 2014 and completed in 2015 converting it into a boutique hotel. The original architect was Henry Melich who's concept and design for this building were taken from Palladian architecture which was derived and inspired by designs of venetian architect Andrea Palladio, who was born in Italy in 1508 and died in 1580. Hence, the drawings are an evolution of Palladio's original concept.

Beautiful Hotel and Incredible Service

Wonderful hotel close to the airport and the beach and within walking distance to two restaurants. We were there only one night, but it would be a beautiful place to relax and explore Nassau. The best part was the staff - we had a very early morning flight, and our transportation provider canceled at about 10:00 PM, leaving us stranded at midnight when we saw the text. The night front desk person said he'd drive us (for a very reasonable fee) and got us to the airport on time. Wonderful service! I wish we had stayed longer!

Wonderful Hotel that is an easy drive from the airport

We had a one night stay at the Ocean West Boutique Hotel on our way to a sailing trip out of Palm Cay. The hotel was charming with beautiful views of the ocean. We had dinner at a great little hot spot right at the bottom of the hill (a quick 3 min walk from the hotel) and then enjoyed a quiet and restful night before our sailing adventure. The bedding was very comfortable and the bathroom was also quite spacious. In the morning we enjoyed a tasty breakfast out on the veranda.

Peaceful, stylish, and comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay at Ocean West. The hotel is beautiful with a great view of the ocean, a nice pool area, and room for parking. We were able to order breakfast and eat on the terrace. There is some noise at night from a nearby restaurant, but if you close your slider, it is hardly noticeable. This is a quiet spot away from crowds. They advertise a beach at the bottom of the hill, but, from what I could see, you need to drive somewhere to not be close to the road while on the beach. There is a fun restaurant, the Blue Sail, not too far away on a beautiful beach..like a mile or so. Next door is a vacant lot so the view out the side window on the end isn't great but all in all it is a very pleasant, quiet, and beautiful place to stay.

Beutiful views, lacking ambience

The views from the terrace were beautiful. The room we stayed in was outdated and had white iron bars in front of it, so the ocean view was less enjoyable. I recommend making sure to be on the second or third floor. It felt like being back in the 80s. Dining area lacked flowers and ambience. It was quite bare. Price is fair and comparable to the British Colonial where we stayed before, and which was completely renovated and had a wonderful bar and restaurants.

Good place to get away, not on the water.

Nice little boutique hotel. If you are looking to get away from it all, this is a good place with a small number of rooms. It is also removed from the city, so there is no tourist or other traffic outside of the hotel. If you don't mind paying to go to a store, the airport, a real beach, or restaurant via the hotel drivers, (cabs are more expensive) then you will not need to rent a vehicle. I had an Ocean view room. It was a nice room, but it was a bit further from a small/rocky beach than I had hoped. The staff was responsive to my needs.
