Orabel Suites

We have had the most amazing stay at the Orabel Suites. We came for 4 days for our wedding anniversary and only have the best things to say about this hotel. From making our reservation up until checking out the staff have been incredible. They have responded to any queries instantly, made the most amazing breakfasts everyday and yes they are 3 courses! They have helped with making arrangements for a hire car, booked us on a catamaran cruise and reserved the most amazing table to watch the sunset at a restaurant called The Edge. All of the staff work unbelievably hard at this hotel and are so friendly. I really cannot find any faults. Thank you all so much for making our stay so special and helping us to make more memories. ❤️

After a tough year, we decided to have a longer holiday than usual. Having seen all the positive reviews of this place we took our chances and booked for 18 nights. We made the right choice. This place is about as perfect as it gets. First and foremost, what makes things so special is the owner, Jannis (everything that others have said about Jannis is true), and his wonderful team – Demetrius who manages things in the evening (and is a dab hand at taking beautiful photos), Aris who runs the bar (his margheritas are to die for!), Marianne the amazing chef, Alketia whose warm smile when she serves breakfast every morning sets you up for the day, and the lovely cleaning ladies who keep the place spic and span with lovely gifts of fresh flowers on the bed every now and again. After a while, we felt like we were part of a family. The site is beautifully designed and kept in pristine condition. And it truly is adult-only (unlike others we’ve experienced). The small, intimate size means that there are plenty of sun beds. There are just 10 bedrooms (which really are suites). We had one of the ground floor ones with a jacuzzi in the cave-like entrance, which allowed us sufficient privacy to have a relaxing dip before bed every evening. The breakfasts are epic (as described by others). Our favourite part was how Marianne would seek us out by the pool to bring us the desert course (by far our favourite was her homemade orange cake!). There is a full bar service throughout the day that stays open till 11pm each evening. There are plenty of food options during the day (not that we needed it given the humongous breakfasts), and the possibility of arranging a private romantic dinner by the pool, which we took advantage of several times during our stay, including on the night we arrived after a late flight (Jannis very kindly arranged a dinner for us). In short, all the things you’d expect from a high-end hotel. The beach is a short walk away (on a dusty road – you need to have a torch or camera light at night) and it has plenty of eating options. It took us a while to get out bearings (Santorini is not cheap and some of the restaurants can be gougers), but we settled on three restaurants that served superb Santorini fare and at affordable prices: Afros, Popeye, and The Nets. We made several visits to each and would heartily recommend them. On our arrival, Jannis advised us on things to do during our holiday. We would definitely recommend the Catamaran island tour (we did that on our last evening and it was magical), the wine tour (mysantorinitour: our guide, Nicos, was superb, and we purchased some lovely Santorini wines to take home), and the hike from Fira to Oia (though you need to set off early for this!). Our stay at Orabel was worth every penny. I cannot think of anything negative to say about this place, and we are dying to return…

Well, what to say about this place? Its amazing! A definate must go to hotel. We received such kindness even before we went with our booking. Jannis and the whole team are so friendly and helpful. We went as stangers and left as friends. The welcome from Demitris and Aris was so lovely and two of the nicest people you could meet, we became good friends. The rooms and the whole hotel are spotless thanks to a team of very friendly housekeeping staff. Plenty of pool towels and no real rush for a bed its a very leisurely laid back atmosphere. People come and go and don't tend to leave items down unless they are they to stay. The hot tub was great and set to just the right temperature for a warm dip out of the sun. The room we had (Mezzo) was a great size and very comfortable. Its an easy walk to the beach and restaurants, yes, its on the road but its hardly busy and was lit well enough at night. Onto the breakfast, this is served to your room or a table by the pool, and what a spread of food you received all served with a friendly smile and chatter from Alketia and Marianne, far more than we could eat, and if you leave the table before desert they usually come and find you! They are feeders! Aris is a great barman and kept us laughing and mixed a great Negroni. Demitris was good company and the fun banter was well recieved and kept us entertained ! Jannis is in reception in the morning and I loved our daily chats whilst ordering breakfast. We met some lovely friendly people whilst we were there. There was nothing not to like in our 17 night stay. We will be back. 10 out of 5!!!, Well done team Orabel.

Thankyou Orabel suites for the most relaxing perfect holiday Jannis the hotel owner was so courteous and helpful and wanting us to have a fantastic holiday. Demetrius and Aris were welcoming and gave us local knowledge and amazing cocktails. Alketia brought our breakfast with a smile and Marianne the chef gave us the most amazing 3 course breakfast daily. Not forgetting the cleaners attention to detail. A five minute walk to the beach passing a small supermarket. Restaurants lining the black sandy coast made it the perfect location for a relaxing adults only vacation. We enjoyed a wonderful six night stay at Orabel Suites. We were greeted by Dimitri who offered us a complimentary drink on arrival and gave us a very helpful and informative visual guide to the island, also for dining in the area, and what the suites had to offer. We stayed in a two bedroom ground floor suite with an indoor jacuzzi. The room, as well as the entire complex was kept spotlessly clean by the excellent housekeeping team. Breakfast which we decided to have served just outside our front door, overlooking the pool. The breakfasts were sumptuous! Always served by a charming young lady (whose name I cannot recall - sorry!) She was very attentive at all times. The breakfasts can be substantial, fresh fruit, Greek yoghurt, freshly squeezed orange juice, pastries, home made jams, tea, coffee. All of this followed by a cooked breakfast which changed daily of eggs ( poached/fried/omelette). We spent most of our time by the pool, swimming and relaxing. The cocktail bar was superbly manned by the very efficient and friendly bartender, Aris. (I may have visited there too many times - his Negroni was perfect) Fresh pool towels were always on hand. The whole complex was luxurious and quiet, made the more enjoyable as no there are no children allowed. Wifi was available throughout the whole complex. All in all, our room was perfect, the exterior and grounds were constantly maintained, cleaned on a regular basis. The owner, Jannis was charming! Both he and Dimitri were always on hand to book taxis, restaurants, and offer any other help which may have been needed. A place to return. Thank you to all of the team, you are all a credit to genuine Greek hospitality. The whole experience at Orabel Suites was perfect for a quiet, relaxing poolside escapade.
