Outrigger is OUTSTANDING

I have so much to say about this place! Mauritius is a beautiful island and the hotel itself is stunning. We stayed there for 2 weeks. There are many many pluses and only a few minuses but i will try to keep my review as short as I can. Let me start with the most important part - we got married during our stay and i would like to say - Thank you Jenita! Thank you for everything! Jenita is the wedding coordinator that works in Outrigger. I was advised to contact her to discuss our wedding. We didn't have much time as we basically decided at the very last moment that we want the wedding to be done there and also to be fully legal. She had only 1 month to go through all the paper work needed prior the wedding, she was absolutely amazing! Jenita was chasing approval form the ministry and when they were delaying the response she went there personally to make sure everything will be okay. When we arrived at the hotel Jenita came to the reception to meet us and she offered her help not only with the wedding but for everything else. Next day we had a meeting with Jenita and we went through all the details about the wedding. The important part is again she was so nice, calming, caring and offering her help. My partner asked her where he can get a cable as he needed to transfer important document - she used her day off to go and personally look for the cable! A few days after, we had to go to the capital to follow up the process of the legal marriage. Jenita organised a taxi and she came with us. We had some troubles at the ministry as one of the ladies working there was refusing to approve our wedding day saying that she never received our documents month ago. Jenita was calm but firm, she was providing her all the evidence of the process being followed and finally we got our approval! We didn't felt stressed even for a moment having Jenita by our side. She took us for a lunch, took us shopping, showing us the beauty of Port Louis while waiting all the paperwork to be completed. Again i want to mention the cable :D Jenita couldn't find the cable that my partner needed so much, so going back from Port Louis she was calling all the shops around our route back to the hotel and she found it! She told the taxi driver to take us there and we finally got the precious cable! Before the wedding we got frustrated as we received not the best service at the bar. This is the first minus - the bar service isn't the best. Not at all. My partner wanted to give a polite feedback but the response was very surprising! He went to the manager and told him about our experience and he took it very seriously. Jenita again was there and she sent an email to the GM telling him what happened. Immediately Robert came and we realised that the GM has been serving us food on the beach restaurant. Robert is very, very polite, kind and professional. He made sure we had a pleasant stay until the end of our holiday. On our wedding day Jenita organised my partner to be in a different room so i could prepare without him seeing me before the ceremony. While Jenita was constantly checking on me, Robert went to see my partner and gave him a support going through all the stress before the biggest moment in our life. I am so happy and so grateful that my husband wasn't alone during the moments before the wedding. The ceremony was beautiful, Jenita was there again! I felt that she isn't just a wedding coordinator but also she is my best friend, my family, someone that really care! The day after, Jenita went again to Port Louis to drop our certificate so my partner again asked her if she could find him some sort of battery. And again she did! In the mean time i would like to mention another very special person - SAM! He is a manager in the main restaurant Mercado. I can not even describe how wonderful he is. He was so nice to us, so positive, the hardest worker in the whole island, he is not just a manager, he is a leader. I was working in hospitality for 8 years in the past, so i was curious to see the work ethic, the relationship between him and his staff. Incredible person! Making sure the guests are good but also cheering up the staff as well. Leading them and showing the best example. Thank you SAM! At the end of our stay he gave me a bag full of Mauritian herbs and all sorts of stuff. I love it! Thank you! A few days later Jenita had to go to Port Louis for a 4th time! Again, everything went smooth and we got our marriage certificate but not only that. Jenita bought us some souvenirs! But this wasn't even the nicest thing she done ! Jenita and her mum cooked for us and she brought us traditional Mauritian food on our last day!!!!!! My vocabulary isn't that rich to find the words to describe this beautiful lady! Thank you again Jenita. About the hotel itself: Rooms are slightly dated for 5 star hotel. House keeping is stunning. Rooms are very big, bed is amazing. About the restaurants: Main restaurant Mercado - good food, amazing service! Restaurant by the beach Edgewater- this is the most delicious sea food that i ever tried! Service is okay, again Robert and Vik were very good! The bar - not good service at all especially the bartenders! Raja from reception was so kind to us trying to help my partner when he hurt his leg during snorkelling! Thank you Raja! I want to finish this extremely long review by saying this - if i ever own a hotel/ restaurant i would steal Jenita and Sam to be at least a GMs! You guys are so so lucky to have them! Dearest outrigger We both wanted to reach out to show our appreciation to you all and your amazing staff who yet again have made our 3rd trip to Mauritius an amazing experience. We want to share a few words for certain members of staff who really stood out to us. Nitish: Nitish has been a constant pleasure, he has welcomed us with such warmth from the moment we arrived. He is so amazing and we hope to see him again very soon. I cannot use enough words to show what he means to us. Dinson: Dinson has reached out to us back in October 2024 when we made our booking for this 3rd trip. Although he was on annual leave, everything was perfect t and we cannot thank him enough. Isha: What can we say? Ishas smile and hug when we arrived was so heartfelt, I feel like I am leaving family behind. She has gone out of her way to assist us when our flight got cancelled and even called the airline to confirm the new flights.she will be missed dearly. Ezekiel: Your security, In particular Ezekiel, I cannot praise enough. He is such a professional and we feel so safe when we know he is around. He takes his job so seriously which is so reassuring when travelling abroad. This only makes us want to come to outrigger again and again just to see these lovely staff members. We wish him all the best and hope to see him progress in his career at outrigger as he truly deserves the recognition. I do not have the words to praise him enough. Jarvin: Jarvin instantly put our mind at ease and arranged our extra nights stay when our flights got cancelled. All the stress was gone once he spoke and reassured us. Again, making us feel so welcome. Sam: Sam honestly was the kindest and his warmth shone thorough. Every dining experience at mercado was perfect thanks to him. We did not go without anything and we hope to meet him again during our next visit to outrigger. an amazing addition to the outrigger team. Vik: Vik has gone above and beyond to accommodate us. No matter where we saw him, his warmth shone through smile and service was spot on! He even went to find me tamarind juice when it was not available as it’s my favourite. Again a pleasure to have met him and we wish and hope to see him again at outrigger. Robert: Robert again has been the perfect host. HE was always attentive and ensured we were happy. Yanish: Yanish and Estelle at plantation were so sweet and attentive. The perfect duo, coops not have asked for a sweeter pair. Diksha bhavish damini and Sharan from le blue have been perfect hosts and really looked after us. They were so attentive and made sure to always check to see if we needed anything. Sanjeev every morning was a pleasure to meet on our way to breakfast. His positive vibe did not go unnoticed and again we wish to meet him again soon. Annabelle, Wendy and Atish from navasana as always were fantastic. We were so happy to see Annabelle who came to look for us on the resort just to say hello! Muzamil and shafi were the sweetest boys, who remembered us from our last visit. Beautiful boys who were so kind to us. Kinsley from reception was yet another of your beautiful staff members. He was always so helpful and promptly assisted with any questions or issues we had. Swastee has been exceptional. She always ensured we had everything in our rooms and if she saw us would always ask if there was anything more she could do for us. Again we hope to see her again in our next visit and I do hope her efforts are recognised as they are surely appreciated by us. I do apologies if I have left anyone out but hand on heart we love Mauritius and refuse to book another resort just because we want to meet your lovely staff again and again. Bad Experience

we stayed there for a weekend Very bad experience Room condition was poor: broken door handle despite maintenance service Door stayed open Aircon non functioning Sink leaking,had to put towels to prevent water from coming into the room Iights were faulty The bathtub after use never emptied,the water remained like that despite many complaints done Food service at the mercado was very bad Lot of waiting time No napkins or tissue were provided, dirty plates were still on the table upon our arrival for dinner Bar service,the staffs need training and also the foreign workers need a lot of communication courses as they are unable to understand orders However at Edgewater restaurant,the service was amazing,we were very well welcomed,no waiting time,the restaurant was very clean and all the staffs there were amazing Special mention to Mr Vik who made us had a nice time at edgewater and who is doing an amazing job there.

My husband and I spent our milestone birthdays at Outrigger Mauritius. It was the best experience ever. We were treated like royalty. The Management and staff were so friendly, helpful and overall the best customer service. A huge heartfelt thanks to Sandy, Sharone, Rungah, Orvashi(Mercado), Aqua gym Trainers. Will definitely be back. Will recommend this place to everyone we meet🎉😍
