Fantastic resort, would return again!

We stayed in Outrigger Resort Mauritius for 9 days on the all inclusive package at the end of March 2026. Overall, our experience was extremely positive and we would absolutely return to the resort. Pros: * Location was perfect for all of the popular excursions and the weather was lovely * The beach is absolutely beautiful and very quiet * Atmosphere at the resort - very relaxing and quiet (unlike many other similar resorts) * Rooms were immaculate and decor was lovely * Staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay (see later for more on this) Cons: * Cleaning schedule: while the room cleaning was always immaculate and staff were very friendly and professional, we often found that our room was still not cleaned by midday which made things difficult if we wanted to return to the room in the middle of the day to cool down. We suspect this is due to understaffing at this time of year. * Limited food options: the resort is advertised as having 5 restaurants for dinner but, realistically, there are only 2 that you can consistently eat at. There is the main buffet which is great and does vary day-to-day, and then you have the Edgewater restaurant. Aside from that, options are very limited. The hotel app includes the Blue Water bar as a place you can have dinner but when we asked to book a table they said it was only for lunch, which was a bit confusing. The other two options are the Tapas bar which has an extremely limited menu, and the Voyager Club 47 restaurant, which is closed several days of the week and when it was open we were sadly unable to book a table - this was, however, mitigated entirely by the staff there who went above and beyond to help us (see later). * Limited drinks options: we found it a bit strange that the bar staff weren’t able to make any drinks that weren’t on the menu… we asked for quite basic and common drinks like a passion fruit martini and they said they couldn’t do anything that wasn’t on the menu, which itself was pretty limited for a resort bar. However, the Club 47 bar was a different story (open to members only though) - you could have any drink you wanted, all made from fresh fruits etc. Now for the specific staff members who made our stay as perfect as it was. Firstly, all waiters and staff at the Mercado buffet restaurant always went above and beyond to help. They were extremely attentive at all times. Most nights we were served by Dileep, Sravan, Adwad, and Balu, all of whom were very friendly and helpful, making our dinners at the buffet more special. A special mention goes to Riteesh at the dessert bar in the buffet - Riteesh was lovely to chat to and always helped recommend the best desserts when we couldn’t pick! We ate at the Edgewater restaurant itself once during our stay and the food was great. We also had a special beach dinner for my partner’s birthday, organised by Vic. Vic was very helpful and made the evening more special by arranging a birthday cake for us. We were served by Abhi who went above and beyond for us. The cleaning staff were always very friendly when we passed by, with Janmoo going the extra mile with prompt water replacements. The concierge staff were also very helpful in organising our stay, particularly arranging rental cars last minute for us - thank you to Anoop for help with this! Andre and Vishnu were also very helpful during our stay with our bags and taxi arrangements etc. Last but certainly not least was Dinson, the Voyager 47 manager who truly went above and beyond for us. Our time at the Voyager club was just incredible, thanks to Dinson and Damini, as well as Vishal. They made us unique drinks from fresh fruit and organised several platters of food for us and a special breakfast for the day of our departure since we were unable to book a table at the restaurant itself. Our brief time at the club was the highlight of our time at the resort, and we would strongly recommend upgrading to the club if you get the chance during your stay - you will be very well taken care of by Dinson and his team. Overall, we strongly recommend this resort and would certainly return in the future. Thank you to all of the staff who made our first trip to Mauritius as special as it was. From the moment you arrive, the setting stands out—framed by turquoise lagoons and swaying palms. The hotel is very beautiful with spacious rooms and exceptional service. Excellent location and atmosphere for relaxation. Rooms spacious and clean. Value for stay. Quiet and serene property. Service was excellent by the staff. A lot of amenities to keep the family and kids occupied. If u want to do a lot of sightseeing suggest staying in the north west or east for ease and less travel time. On property would like to mention a special note for Mr. Sam at the Mercado restaurant and Melissa at the reception.
