Ozen By Atmosphere At Maadhoo

As a long-standing repeater guest who has returned to Ozen Life Maadhoo time and again, I can honestly say I have fallen deeply in love with this extraordinary place and, most of all, with its wonderful people. It's like this perfect little peaceful spot right in the heart of the Indian ocean, where you can totally unplug and just soak in the calm vibes, with those stunning blue waters all around. Everything here's top-notch - the villas are super cozy, always spotless, and just feel so welcoming, like your own little hideaway. But what really blows us away every time is the staff. Their service is just unbeatable; they pay attention to every tiny detail and make sure you're taken care of in ways that feel so genuine and thoughtful. I have to give a huge shoutout and thanks to some folks who made our stay extra special: our butlers Siri and Ayush, who were always on it with their awesome dedication and little touches that meant a lot. Their care during our visit was second-to-none. Then there's Chef Sunny - the dishes he prepared were absolutely delicious and full of flavor, like works of art on a plate. The housekeepers Noushad and Raju kept things impeccably clean without ever being intrusive. In the restaurants, Erika, Rahul, Ahil, and Tiff were fantastic, always smiling and making meals fun and memorable. Moreover, Choki and Dawa therapists from the Spa centre were brilliant, while Zaain from Joie de Vivre was a star with his spot-on service and excellent cocktails. Finally, we cannot forget to thank the General Manager, Resort Manager, and the restaurant managers as well - they were so welcoming with their kind words, genuine hospitality and the caring touch during our stay. Ozen Life Maadhoo is still our go-to paradise, and we are already counting down to our next trip.

We very much enjoyed our holiday but felt that there were a few things that did mean we didn’t quite have the experience we had expected, especially based on all of the amazing reviews. The highlights: - The staff are incredible. We loved that they could be they could be their best selves every day. - The room was excellent and well appointed, everything was perfect in there. - Food was incredible, every meal was excellent. - The Dive team and snorkelling every day were really amazing people. They guided and engaged with you and made sure you saw everything to be seen. - We loved speaking to the Marine Biologists and seeing them look after everything. Room for Improvement - We should have been made aware of the building work before coming, to be honest I didn’t expect to hear the digger, every single day. We could not sit out in our garden because of the noise. Had we known we would have changed to another island. We called it the monster, but we could not even nap in the afternoon due to the noise. - M6M was closed all of our stay apart from the last night. Might seem insignificant as other good restaurants but feel like we should have been informed of the closure as eating here was a draw for us. We would have liked to visit more than once. - Traditions is overly hot, uncomfortably so - I understand there has been damage and the shutters cannot open, but portable air con or other ventilation is required. Apparently it will be renovated soon to add glass and air con and this cannot happen soon enough. It seems like the resort needs some work, which they are clearly carrying out. They absolutely have the people and the food service right and these things contribute to a great holiday and with a few improvements, it would be great.

We booked Ozen Life Maadhoo as part of our honeymoon. We were greeted on arrival at the airport by a welcoming staff member who directed us to the lounge where we had refreshments whilst we waited for our passports to be checked. After a 45 min boat ride from the airport, we recieved a Royal welcome from the staff with drums, it was such a nice greeting and they all seemed extremely friendly. Our butler, Simah, introduced himself to us and gave us a brilliant tour of the island and our room. He very kindly also gave us an itinerary which he had crafted for us, we loved that he did this as it removed some of the admin of booking excursions and restaurants. Simah was amazing throughout our stay, he went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and was extremely responsive when we had a question or query. We loved his friendly, warm nature and his infectious energy - we could tell he genuinely cared about us having the best time and was a brilliant representative for Ozen Life Maadhoo. A highlight of our stay was our meal at the M6M restaurant, it was an unbelievable experience. The food was the best we had on the resort and they make sure to look after you whilst you admire all the wildlife. As the restaurant is embedded into coral and a natural landscape, the fish are drawn to the area so there’s constantly something to look at whilst you eat. A special mention to Muskan, she looked after us so well and gave off amazing energy and passion to her job. She made dining at M6M even more of a spectacle and we can’t thank her enough for that. The restaurants are all very good. Only downfall is that sometimes we felt that some dishes lacked flavour, as the resort has quite a variety of nationalities, we discovered it was probably to cater for everyone. If you requested the chefs to make the dish as authentic as they could, they were often more than happy to do that. 

Praveen was also a shining example of a staff member going above and beyond for guests. We met him on our first day at the sushi counter at the lunch buffet. He’s so warm and friendly and took the time to understand our preferences when it came to sushi. The next day we returned to the buffet and he’d prepared a plate of sushi tailored to our preferences. We loved this level of thoughtfulness and it made us feel extra special. 

The level of service and attention to detail of all the staff throughout our stay was amazing and we couldn’t recommend Ozen Life Maadhoo more. Thanks for such an amazing honeymoon.

Whilst it’s been over 5 years between our second and third visit, it was great to see that very little of the important stuff had changed. The people still make this place what it is and we reconnected with some old friends and met plenty of new ones this time over. The butler we had was probably the best so far, nothing was too much and he organised and reorganised our activities without any fuss. Was always polite and gave us a friendly smile whenever we bumped in to him during the day or evening. The food offerings are still of the highest quality and we enjoyed new experiences at the crab shack and Nona. The decor of the villa is looking a little tired but it still feels very much like being at home, albeit in a spectacular location!
