My wife and I have been coming here for about 8 years. We come 1-2x/year. We absolutely love it. The beach and water are other-worldly. Absolutely beautiful. The food is exponentially better than you would expect from an all inclusive. It truly is gourmet all inclusive. But what makes us come back besides the beach and food is the service. This place is becoming like a second home to us. We have developed relationships with so much of the staff. It’s nearly impossible not to. They are lovely. So kind and warm. The warmest is Yasser, the Palafitos butler. You won’t find a kinder heart anywhere. I legitimately get sad to leave him each time, as I feel like he is family. He is an incredibly hard worker too. He’s always running around getting anything and everything his guests desire. He cares deeply about making your experience unforgettable and his smile will light up your day. He’s a wonderful human and my Mexican familia. William is right there with him too. William goes above and beyond for us every time. These two butlers shine above everyone else, and most of the other butlers are still darn good! William made sure that my wife has special items that she loves, he decorated the room beautifully for our anniversary and he scored major points for me with my wife. He took time out of his own day to find items for me that I really wanted and did it without expecting anything in return. His laugh is contagious and he’s just wonderful. Top notch. Speaking of happiness, you may not find a happier human than Alberto at the Palafitos. He’s the perfect bookend for the trip. He picks us up in his golf cart and brings us to our room or anywhere else we need and then brings us to the car when we leave. Even in the midst of being sad to go, seeing his smiling face as the last memory of Maroma always brightens the mood. He is joy personified. He exudes happiness and kindness. And my goodness… he remembered my wife’s and my name a year later! He not only greeted us with our names, he did it enthusiastically and sincerely was happy to see us. I don’t get that warm of a welcome when I visit family. It’s impossible to be in a bad mood around Alberto. He is sunshine and a highlight of our trip. Daniel the room service delivery man at PALAFITOS is such a hard worker. I think some people overlook him because the butlers get the most attention but he is amazing. He should be a butler. He’s better than several of them. He is very happy and kind but my goodness was that guy works hard. He would check in on us and make sure we had everything we needed and was always rushing to get everything we wanted in a timely manner. He is a hidden gem at Maroma and needs to be promoted. If I was managing a hotel, I would want to build a team around this man and the people I mentioned above. Eliseo at Lima Limon is also amazing and is a huge asset to this resort. He is so friendly and has done many favors for us that go far above and beyond that of a server at a restaurant. We look for him every trip and he makes us feel at home. Leo was my bartender at Palafitos and I had so much fun with him. We would create drinks together and he gets so excited about it. He has such a happiness about him and really was a treat to get to know. I also really enjoyed Alejandro at the bar there. He remembered my wife’s drink and always makes sure to say hi to me. Lazaro and Christian were fantastic at Palafitos restaurant. Both top notch guys and add to your experience. Agustin served us at the member gala and has been there forever. He’s very professional and a great server. Fernando at Palafitos always smiles and waves to me and always makes sure I’m taken care of. There are many other wonderful people who make up the staff at Maroma. This place is magical and I highly recommend it. But these people make me come back over and over again and make me feel at home. I love them.
