Overall this resort was truly amazing. We've been to dozens of resorts all over Mexico and this for sure in the top 3. The service couldn't have been better. The staff is so accomodating everywhere from all room services especially Evan to restaurants, beach and our wonderful Nomadic Oscar who took amazing care of us. A big standout for us was Danny and Marina at the adults beach area. They took such good care of our every need on the beach and will always be remembered. Lunch at Su Casa was delicious and servers Luis and Joel amazing. The food is truly special and incredible all the different flavors at the various restaurants so gourmet, creative and healthy. The restaurants are all beautifully decorated and inviting, especially the hostess at Lek and all the servers. We looked forward to every meal. The beach was beautiful soft white sand with turquoise waters. The beach bag loungers one of a kind. I do think there could have been a beach shower near Su Casa. The two we used were far from the restuarant and it's like standing under a faucette not a shower. The beautiful jungle behind the hotel and grounds was so peaceful and always looked forward to walking the path. It really is a wellness haven for the soul. Sadly we did have one issue that didn't leave a great memory and that was our check-in with Denise. We arrived in the evening after traveling all day. I mentioned that I had requested an upper floor and Denise said it was not available but she had an upgraded room for us with a tub and connecting children's room with extra shower, which we didn't want or need. We were taken to room 129, ground floor end unit. We looked out on the patio to see a few sparse trees in the sand no ocean and a big brown tarp covering a palapa repair site. We couldn't believe our eyes and called the front desk immediately. After a short time Denise called us back with two options and we ended up on 3rd floor family room in one of the older buildings with a bunk bed instead of the sofa. It was nice but still shocked that we even had to go through this in such a high end resort and the the $$$$ we paid. We would definitely return to this resort in the future.

Our First of Many Stays at Palmaia

My wife and I just returned from a wonderful week at Palmaïa--the first of what we know will be many vacations there. This excellent vegan-forward wellness resort showed us exactly why it has earned its many prestigious honors, including two Michelin Keys and recent inclusion in The Leading Hotels in the World (LHW). Palmaia takes its brilliant concept and executes it at the highest service levels. The staff's dedication to making its clients' experience the best possible is simply amazing. We could mention nearly everyone we came in contact with there, but we'll just mention a few particular standouts: Polo at the registration desk set things off on exactly the right foot, by making us feel immediately at home. She remembered us at the end of our week, when we were lucky enough to have her serve us again. Luis and Juan, our outstanding servers at breakfast all week at La Casa, constantly brought us new things to try. My favorite was the Mexican coffee flavored with cinnamon and star anise. They took the time to get to know us and allowed us to get to know them. They made us truly feel like family, and we already miss our conversations with these two gentlemen (along with our coconut yogurt, fresh berries, breakfast burrito, etc., etc.) Danny and Emilio at Charly's Vegan Taco truck were altogether friendly and engaging--the tacos were incredible, and the Nachos Machos maybe even better! Marina, a resort manager, was literally all over the resort. We were heading to one of the cool beach chairs, and she suddenly raced to meet us with pillows for our heads. We are not accustomed to such a high level of service and care. All of the women who work at Plantissa, the vegan coffee shop, made us look forward to our visits there. Again, their dedication to quality and service are impeccable. Abernardo, the bartender who served us amazing mocktails at Su Casa and the swim-up bar, was incredibly friendly and engaging. Many thanks to Esteban and Karen, our Nomadic Guides, who saw to our restaurant reservations, recommended activities, and even got us golf cart rides when a downpour happened while we were dining at Mar de Olivo, our favorite dinner restaurant. The people who teach classes and give performances here are extraordinary. We particularly enjoyed Rene Najera's Medicine of Sound performance, and Iva Visosevic's talent and teaching ability shone through in the watercolor painting class. The cacao ceremony was moving, and beautifully led and musically accompanied. We met Palmaia's owner, Alex Ferri, who literally leapt up from his table to shake hands and chat. In our brief time together, it was apparent that Palmaia's excellence and client dedication flows from the top. We don't know of any other vacation destination that offers so much for vegans and anyone seeking peace, nourishment, and perhaps even self-enlightenment. Wildlife abounds here--we saw several Yucatan spider monkeys, agoutis, coatis, iguanas, and colorful birds such as the black-backed oriole and great kiskadee. We have already made reservations for our next stay there, and we hope everyone gets to experience this unique Eden for themselves.

Best experience ever!

We can’t say enough good things about Palmia. I stayed here with my mother on a weeklong trip and both of us have commented multiple times that literally every single detail, every square inch of this place has been created and maintained perfectly. We have never experienced such an incredible food- absolutely next level- and service and kindness from all of the staff. We wanted to give a shout out to all of our servers who were extra extraordinary and knowledgeable about the incredible food we’ve been served and the care and thoughtfulness that is given to all of the ingredients and creativity– I can’t emphasize enough that this is a topic experience that you really can’t beat. Su Casa staff captured our hearts at each breakfast- Fernando, Abel, Deanna, Mario, Juan, Luis, Selia and others. It’s really hard to mention people by names because honestly every single person we met here was incredible. I hope we have the privilege to in the future. The various classes and experiences we had here were top-notch.

Relaxed Oasis in Playa del Carmen

We loved our experience….our room was big and beautiful, facing the ocean. Thoughtful design touches throughout the entire property. Our personal concierge guides Estoban and Karen were very attentive, the beach and restaurant service was great, and our yoga and sound healing classes were amazing. And the food was extraordinary….if you love plant based gourmet dishes, this is the place….plus if you want to get fish, eggs or meat that is available too….highly recommend!

Heaven on Earth

This was my third time at Palmaïa, after spending two separate week-long stays there in 2023. In my humble opinion, Palmaïa is truly heaven on earth. I honestly struggle to find a better way to describe the experience I’ve had each time I’ve visited. The food, the service from every single employee, the vibe and energy throughout the property, the restaurants, and the daily activities are all exceptional. There are cenotes, beautiful nature, monkeys, birds, and so many other animals. The beach, the sand, the music, and even the signature scents throughout the resort all create an atmosphere that feels incredibly special. One of the things that stands out most is how thoughtfully the resort was built around the natural surroundings. The pools have the most peaceful flow to them, and there are moments like hearing live piano or violin being played that make the experience feel special. The nomadic guides (concierge team), the spa, and the connections you end up making with other guests all add to the magic of the place. If you want to tap into your spiritual side, Palmaïa gives you the space and opportunities to do that deeply. But if you simply want to relax and enjoy a beautiful, peaceful resort, it delivers that just as perfectly. Either way, you will leave feeling fulfilled. I leave with clear skin, a clear mind and a new outlook on life. If you’re questioning whether you should book this resort, my answer is absolutely yes. It’s the kind of experience you remember for a lifetime, especially if you’re looking for peace, connection, and a sense of renewal.
