Official Description

The hotel is located in Tulum, nestled amongst the trees, overlooking the magical white sand coast of the stunning Caribbean. The restaurant, bar and cabañas at the hotel are surrounded by tropical plants and white sand walkways, creating a very informal retreat with a natural atmosphere. With less emphasis on architecture it has created an environment where guests can rest their mind and body and replenish the simple pleasures of the soul. Renovated in 2010, the youth hostel features a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service, a hotel safe, currency exchange facilities, a car park and bicycle hire. All rooms are en suite and equipped with a shower, double bed and a balcony or terrace. The hotel has a beach volleyball court and a beach football pitch which guests can use free of charge. It also offers massages on the beach (for a fee), snorkel hire and other water sports equipment which come at an extra cost. Sun loungers and parasols are laid out on the sun terrace and on the sandy beach for use. Water sports available include diving, windsurfing, sailing and catamaran boating (fees apply to all).

Best brunch I ever had! Service was incredible. Marti & Javier were amazing and very attentive. The view and music were such the vibe you want to be. You must try the french toast, they were chef kiss 🤌🏻

Avoid at all costs

We stayed at this hotel in late May and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience that left us deeply concerned for our family’s comfort and safety. Prior to arrival, we contacted the hotel to request two cribs, making it clear we’d be traveling with young children. Instead of offering a standard or moderate room with accommodations for cribs, we were told we needed to upgrade—at an additional cost of $800—to a large A-frame lofted ocean room. While the ocean view was beautiful, the room itself was extremely hot and poorly ventilated. Our baby monitors consistently recorded temperatures in the upper 80s Fahrenheit. The lofted design traps heat upstairs and in the back of the unit, making the space stifling. There was a separate AC unit downstairs, but it was completely inadequate for cooling the full space. When we requested fans, we were told none were available at the hotel. There were also dead bugs throughout the unit. This created a very stressful and unsafe sleeping environment for our children. Overheating during sleep is a well-documented risk for infants, and it’s alarming that a hotel would require a family stay in such a room despite us telling them we were open to a smaller room even it was tight. The staff at the beach and restaurant were warm and accommodating. However, the overall experience was unacceptable for a family with young children. We paid significantly more for an “upgrade” that put our children’s well-being at risk, and to date, we have received no response from the hotel despite reaching out directly. We sincerely hope the management takes these concerns seriously and improves both their communication and accommodation policies for families.
