What a beautiful hotel, the staff are all so helpful and friendly, and the grounds and pools are immaculate. Our room was a Reserve Junior Suite Nature View. It was gorgeous, overlooking the reserve pool and the mangroves. The complimentary mini bar was well stocked and replenished daily, and we could ask for extras eg wine or spirits. Eduardo was our concierge and he genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. He checked in with us every day and was so helpful, he really made our stay extra special. We spent a lot of time on the beach, the sea was warm, shame about the seaweed (staff were out clearing it every day) but it didn’t stop us from swimming. Loved the cabanas on the beach, listening to the waves and all the wildlife in the mangroves and drinking daiquiris of course. So peaceful! We found the food to be mostly excellent, the only poor experience was in the Italian restaurant but this was more than made up for in the others; the service was of a very high standard and there was a good range of options. We also enjoyed the coffee bar which served great croissants and cookies, and the gelato stall too. There were activities daily and entertainment on every night. We didn’t really bother with this but my husband did book a fishing trip through the hotel and unfortunately this is the reason I have knocked off a star. The captain of the boat was extremely rude to my husband and as a result he came away with no photos of his catch. This was the one trip that he had always wanted to do and despite Eduardo’s best efforts, he has no mementoes - it left a sour taste. That said, it can’t take away from what was a wonderful trip - we would highly recommend the hotel and paying extra for the Reserve - maybe just don’t go fishing…
