Relax and calm

The timeee had at Pestana Alvor Beach Villas was simply wonderful. The breathtaking beachfront location, combined with the peaceful ambiance, made it the perfect place to stay and relax. The hospitality it was exceptional. Vanda made my stay even more special. She always had a smile on her face and went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect.

Extremely poor level of care and poor standards.

My elderly parents stayed at the Pestana beach villas for 2 wks. They were really looking forward to their long awaited, hard earned holiday but were very disappointed. On arrival they had to wait nearly 4 hours before they could go to their apartment. They were aware that check in wasn't until 3pm but were told it would probably be possible earlier. My elderly parents had been travelling since 4 in the morning and were not permitted to enter their villa one minute before 3pm. Prior to their arrival I asked if I could see where they would be staying. I was refused but I was informed that I could request ground or first floor accommodation . I requested first floor but that wasn't granted. The accommodation itself was very poor, and in need of an up date. The minuscule kitchen was inadequately equipped. On multiple occasions they had no hot water in the mornings, having to have cold showers and treck over to reception to try to resolve the issue. They were supplied with shabby towels with holes. The access to the villa was a death trap, especially for elderly people coming back late at night in the dark, as the pavement outside was in a dreadful state of repair as my photos show. Mum fell on a large hole which had not been fenced off and was left exposed. Clearly there was maintenance being carried out, however my parents were misled regarding the extent of this when booking. Extremely poor level of care and poor standards.

Lovely hotel. Greeted by a very friendly receptionist. Pool area is beautiful and the staff at the bar are friendly, helpful and efficient. Special nod to Ricardo and Cecilia. Room small but bed very comfortable. Opted for a sea view which is lovely

This beachfront hotel offers stunning ocean views and impeccable service. The reception team is warm, welcoming, and exceptionally attentive, ensuring a seamless and delightful stay. Thank you to Helena and Jessica ( i think it was their name) whom we deal with during the stay.

This hotel is perfectly located on a gorgeous piece of the Algarve coastline for not only families but visiting golfers alike. The facilities are exceptional, the staff are very friendly, courteous and professional. The rooms, whilst small are lovely, clean and very well serviced daily. A short walk or taxi ride away are numerous restaurants and bars all well worth a visit over the course of your stay. A picturesque long and safe beach is also worth exploring. There are some stunning caves and rock formations to one end and a lovely marina to the other. There are plenty of gift shops to wander round and in with some authentic Portuguese wares. I have visited this hotel on 3 separate occasions over 12 years and haven't been disappointed once.

The Pestana D. João Villas is a hotel overlooking the sandy beach and calm, crystal clear waters of Alvor, Algarve. It is only 10 minutes on foot from the town centre, very close to the Alvor river. Take a dive into one of the 2 outdoor saltwater swimming pools surrounded by lush and peaceful gardens, or relax at the Spa with an indoor swimming pool, Turkish bath and sauna where you can schedule a Magic Spa massage. For your meals, there is 1 restaurant and 3 bars (two of which only open in the summer). If you have kids, the Pestana Kids Club is the perfect place for them to have fun (open from June to September). The Standard Villas feature full kitchens while the Superior Villas have kitchenettes. Both have large living areas and either a terrace or balcony.
