Pestana Delfim Beach & Golf Hotel

We arrived late due to delay with airline and they had put a couple of plates of food in the room for us without us even asking. Everything was amazing the staff couldn’t do enough for you. After reading some reviews prior to booking I would advise anyone to go as you couldn’t ask for anything better if you are wanting a relaxing holiday near the beach in the sun ☀️

We arrived about mid day, but where unable to check into our room till around 3pm, this was very uncomfortable having been travelling since midnight. The room was very nice, large with a large balcony and excellent sea views. All the staff where very helpful, some very nice and pleasant. some being very automated. The grounds and pools are excellent with plenty of sunbeds We travelled at the start of October, we thought missing the half term. but there was an exceptional amount of children for what we believed was school term time, and meal times seemed to run riot in the restaurant areas The downside of the hotel was the restaurant and food. Although there is a sign outside the restaurant telling people not to enter wearing swimwear, at lunch time lots of people entered wearing wet swimwera/clothes even with a concierge at the entrance who seemed to turn a 'blind eye' this is unfair to other guests as the seating is material cushioned so ends up wet. The food itself was at best average. Most of the meat dishes are very tough and chewy, a lot of the food is very dry and do not have any accompanying sauces/gravy, although there is always fish it always seemed to be called 'fish with herbs' Although we never went hungry we expected a better standard of food. One morning for breakfast the hot food consisted of two lots of sausage, three different sorts of eggs, mushrooms and mixed vegetables. The specialist restaurants The Italian. The starters, serve yourself, the same starters that's available in the main restaurant, the main course pizza and pasta. We could see into the kitchen and observed that all the food seemed to be part prepared and reheated by the chefs, it was also dissapointing to see that the chefs did not wear gloves when handling food and never appeared to was their hands. The Surf & Turf When we arrived here we where told that we cannot go and pick our starters (again what's available in the main restaurant) until we had chosen our main course. As a personal point of view, any restaurant we have visited we always order some wine, then order our starter. then we have a break before ordering our main course. In conclusion, The hotel, very good, clean and spacious The food, dry. tough, all prepared well in advance, only one repetitive 'show cooking' poor hygiene We won't return And I do expect to recieve the same repetitive reply from the management

Visited the haunted house, great fun, must see, highlight of my stay! Great actors and the haunted house is well decorated and creepy

Enjoyed a lovely week at the beautiful hotel. The hotel is possibly the cleanest I have ever stayed at. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The beds were comfortable and the room very spacious. The view from our room was lovely. So glad we upgraded to a superior sea view room. The food was good but could have been improved with a specific gluten free area. There was always options for gf food, but things like bread and pasta had to be asked for and then we had to wait for it to be brought to us. Would definitely stay at this hotel again. The only real negative was the transfer, it was a lot longer than expected due to pick ups at other hotels. TUI advised it as 45mins but was actually 2 hrs. (But that obviously wasn’t the fault of the hotel.) We did an Uber into Lagos €12 each way.
