I was the most excited for this hotel during my stay in Bali and unfortunately it proved to be the biggest disappointment. While there was technically nothing wrong it from what you'd expect from a hotel, it is by no means a yoga or wellness center. The hotel lists several yoga classes a week and options for private classes. When we arrived we were told we had to be booked at least a day in advance and when we did, we were told yoga instructor wasn't available. When we pushed furthered, the staff was able to call in an instructor. The instructor was friendly, but as an avid yogi of 20 years I have no idea what that class was but it wasn't yoga and it wasn't the Balinese style either. The class was 40 mins instead of an hour and the other students asked me to stay after to teach a proper yoga class for the last 20 mins. For the rest of my stay there had to search far and wide to find yoga in the area, and while I did finally find one place, it was hard to get to. When I brought the comment about the how the website was misleading to the staff they said "that's really more in our other hotels, we don't really do that much yoga here, our website isn't updated." If that's true, fine, then communicate it to the parent property so you are not offering things you can't deliver on. We attended the show in the park listed on the weekly schedule which was great, but the driver asked up what time we needed to be picked up. I said when the show was over and the other guests said in 2 hours. The show only lasted 1.5 hours so we have to call the driver back sooner. This is something the hotel should be aware of and coordinating for the hotel guests as locals, we don't know these things. There is supposed to be a daily shuttle to the market. When we got on the shuttle we were asked where we wanted to go. Again, aren't they supposed to know? We're not from here. We were dropped off at a tiny street market with a ton of pushy vendors and people approaching us on the street and had to call the hotel to come get us early. Food was mediocre and by no means healthy. I'm a vegetarian and had hardly any options for lunch. I don't think veggie burger or greasy fried rice lives up to the "balanced, health-conscious meals. Guests can savor nourishing dishes that support their wellness journey" the website boasts. I stopped eating at the hotel as it was making my stomach sick including the free breakfast. The staff in the restaurant were some of the nicest and most helpful people I have ever met! The hotel was at least a 10 minute drive from town, so we had to cab everywhere. Also we were only offered to (plastic) bottles of water in the hotel room and then had to buy our own or walk across the resort to the bar. All of the other hotels we stayed in in Bali offered better and more sustainable water solutions. The website also mentions a beach, but it is not one you can really swim in there. There is maybe 6 ft of sand and a lot of locals bothering the tourists to buy things. Some even came into the hotel grounds which I think should not be allowed. Highlights: - Best pool of the trip - Purification ceremony and palm reading were fantastic. - Spa was fantastic. - Rooms are nice and clean, - Grounds are stunning Overall the staff was very friendly. I think they could use more training on problem solving for the guests.
