Unique dream destination hotel

30 Jun 2025
A truly one-off experience hotel resort on the most famous chocolate estate in the world. First impressions were the gardens and greenery upon arrival, simply stunning. A complimentary drink awaited us at reception and we were driven to our lodge. We made a beeline to the veranda balcony as the view was like a picture postcard of the Pitons which we never tired of looking at. The bathroom was huge with its wonderful open rainshower. The four poster bed was big and comfy and there was loads of hanging space in the wardrobes. The daily complimentary chocolate truffles, cookies and salted coconut flakes were lovely and there’s a velvetiser too. The food was lovely and each course was precluded by an amuse bouche and it was amazing dining so close to the Piton. Jaw-dropping black infinity pool. Stunning walking trails on the estate and the chocolate tour is not to be missed. Exceptional service from the staff. A dream destination.

Don't eat the red if you're hungry.

Don't go to rabot hotel restaurant if you're actually hungry. It was a suggestion from someone at our villa to go to. Here's what a $30 USD will get you a pork slider and a very small cup of bitter salad that tastes like something that came out from under my lawn mower.

What an upgrade!

31 May 2025
Our week long stay got off on the right foot with a free upgrade to a lux lodge. It wasn't an expense I was prepared to pay beforehand but it was SO worth it in retrospect with a glorious view of the petit piton from our balcony. The room itself was huge with ample clothes storage and a large bathroom. The rain-forest shower was simply wonderful. I usually don't take well to an unfamiliar bed on the first night. The huge 4 poster was so comfortable I went out like a light. Earplugs are essential though. The nighttime chorus lasts all night and is LOUD! The WiFi is very good and can even be picked up in some of the more remote areas of the grounds. The grounds around the hotel are beautifully maintained with many of the trees and shrubs labelled so you know what is growing on them. The main area of the hotel is built on a very steep hillside. This would have been a problem for my wife who has mobility problems. However the staff were kind enough to lay on one of their taxis to take us back to the room as and when required. We were on an all inclusive package so explored the whole range of the menus for breakfast. lunch and dinner. Consequentially my waistline has suffered somewhat as a result! A particular highlight is The Magnificent Piton desert. The flambeed meringue after the sun has gone down is a light show not to be missed! The staff throughout our stay were so accommodating and bent over backwards if we need one of the menu items as gluten free or lactose free. A particular mention to Anna who was our server on several nights. She was so friendly and helpful! We booked several excursions through the hotel. Highlights included the Sapphire Falls guided walk through the rain-forest and the Soufriere Experience which took in the drive through volcano and the nearby mud baths. However, some of the best experiences are free. The Jurassic trail through the grounds of Project Chocolat is filled with photo worthy opportunities at every turn. For the Big Nature View walk you have to wait for the big money shot right at the end. The view from the top of the estate is simply breathtaking. There is a glorious view to the rain-forest below, between the two pitons and down into the Soufriere basin below. It was simply the holiday of a lifetime with so many wonderful memories. We are indebted to the staff at Rabot Hotel Chocolat who were wonderful throughout!

Mountain Tranquility

31 May 2025
I was at Hotel Chocolat in search of a wellness journey and solo birthday celebration that would bring me a transformational experience and it did not disappoint. The hotel is nestled in the most beautiful, lush setting in the cliff of a mountain. It offered hiking trails, a spa, transportation to town, the beach and excursions. I enjoyed all these activities and more. The food was excellent the views to die for and a spectacular staff. In particular Rick Joseph was a fantastic driver with a very customer friendly attitude and always willing to answer questions. The Luxe rooms are something out of a fairlytale, our luxury and immersive experience. Clean, modern, perfectly decorated for the location. Yes, no AC and loud at night with the critters but that was part of the charm. This is a boutique hotel with charm to spare, great food, impeccable service and Mountain View’s you will not forget. I turned 50 on that mountain and it will live in my memory for many decades to come

Real Review from Someone Who Knows Good Food..

31 May 2025
I never write these but I was compelled after being so shocked when our experience was mediocre at best. My guess is that people are impressed by the chocolate, and overall don’t have much of a palette. The setting is within the hotel, I would say other patrons are guests at the hotel. Very casual attire. Decor very casual, I thought. We started with breads and 3 dipping sauces which was nice. The chocolate ones were literally just a mild chocolate added to butter, and balsamic. Didn’t really have any unique flavor. The pesto was my favorite thing we ate the whole night. I ordered the shrimp cocktail which had no flavor of its own, and was smothered in mayonnaise sauce. It was also 2 pcs of medium Shrimp. We then had the mahi mahi which I kid you not, must have been steamed without salt or any preparations. It had no flavor other than fish. The tiny side of vegetables was mushy and again lacked flavor, even salt. I found the service to be subpar - we had to ask for an ice bucket for our wine. The waiters came by every 5 mins or so to clear something off our plate when we were not done. There were plenty of other seats and it wasn’t closing time so their pushiness was off putting. Oddly, I had to contact a different waiter for a glass of ice and to order a drink. They were out of the one cocktail I chose, so I got an espresso martini (the best on the island). It wasn’t terrible but def not the best on the island. The chocolate mousse dessert was delicious, no complaints. We also ordered something that was like a flambé mountain. It was literally flavorless merengue lit on fire with no instructions and a few bland sauces. I must have blew out my flame too soon bc it mostly tasted like grain alcohol and a sauce that lacked flavor. What an odd choice for a desert. The downstairs pool area looked like it would be a vibe during the day. We were honestly gobsmacked that this got such rave reviews. It was our least favorite on the island. Maybe a good value if you are all inclusive but not worth the $270ish we paid for 1 entree, 2 apps, - few drinks and dessert.
