A lovely holiday at Raddison Blue with my husband for 10 nights between 26th May - 5th June. The hotel is lovely and clean and the staff are amazing and attentive. I do want to give huge praise to Irma who was extremely attentive at breakfast, lunch and dinner and Divtu (I think this was his name) who was waiting drinks around the pool. We truly appreciate your kindness and attentiveness in making our holiday relaxing. The amenities were kept immaculately clean, including the shower rooms. The beach was beautiful though it was a red flag the whole time we were there, we were still able to enjoy the water and snorkel. We do feel like sometimes there is a lack of communication between reception staff and on multiple occasions were given different information leading to confusion. We were not provided with a tour of the premises like we heard others had, so we only found out certain things as we went on throughout our holiday. Our cleaner Matthew kept our room clean and our mini-fridge well stocked during our stay. Unfortunately the cleaning carts were left outside our room each night so that meant that early in the morning we would hear the cleaners outside our rooms clanging around most days. We even had a do not disturb sign on our door on our final day and at 8:30am the cleaner was knocking on the door for housekeeping, though checkout was not until 11am. The hotel is small and intimate which is lovely, and a free shuttle to the sister hotel is a plus as we sometimes felt we needed a change of scenery and personally feel the Raddison Azuri hotel is better although child friendly. Do note: you need to pre-book the transfer to this hotel the day before. This hotel doesn't accommodate for the ever changing weather in Mauritius, which we did not expect. If it rains or is a rainy day the only place for you is back in your room. The outdoor area is semi covered but not waterproof and the only place is the aqua bar which usually serving lunch or dinner. Food was somewhat repetitive even on "theme nights" but there is always something for some one. Be sure to check out the lunch a la carte, this was a game changer for us! However we're very happy with our first time in Mauritius, the people and staff are what made it for us, especially the wait staff who work tirelessly and long hours/ days. They go above and beyond and definitely are a credit to the hotel! One thing I was shocked about on my last day upon checkout was that one of the staff asked for my phone to direct me to the correct place to leave a review (google), I handed her my phone and she was tapping away, upon her handing my phone back to me she had written her own 5* review and given herself a mention about how great she had been, even though this was the only dealings I had with her, she then tried to do the same on my partners phone. Don't get me wrong, she was helpful, but surely you shouldn't be writing reviews on behalf of guests on their own devices!!! This shocked me as it has never happened before, so be wary of google reviews! Thanks Raddison Blu, hope to see Mauritius again one day!
