Radisson Resort Plaza Skiathos

The hotel itself was okay, however, it was right next to a main road and had a campsite opposite it which blocked the view of the sea. The room was standard but was not cleaned the whole 6 days we were there and the air-con hardly worked and sounded like a storm when it did work. The pool was nice but there were limited sun-beds. The staff were very unhelpful and some of them had quite bad attitudes. On our confirmation email it said check out was 12pm, and at 11am Valentina came storming over with a bad attitude asking why we hadn’t checked out. When we questioned the timing and showed her the confirmation email saying 12pm, her response was that was Covid, when it was 6 years ago, and that email is still going out. When we were around the pool the glasses or dishes never got collected, we had to take them over to get them cleared. The breakfast was not the best and had lots of flies around it. Overall, the best part of the hotel was the bed.

Our stay this July was absolute perfection! We visited with friends and had an unforgettable experience. The hotel is spotless, incredibly stylish, and comfortable, offering stunning views that take your breath away. And the staff …5* They were remarkably warm, professional, and attentive to every detail, making us feel genuinely welcomed from the moment we arrived.

Stayed here for a week on a bed and breakfast basis. Arrived midday, checked in but room wasn’t ready which we expected, luggage stored in a room near reception. Had lunch and couple of drinks. Room was ideal for myself and husband, plenty of coat hangers, shower hot and powerful. Cleaning staff very good. Breakfast was great, plenty of everything, nice coffee. Never a problem for us, no queuing at all. Beach just across the road. To get into town, could either walk to main road, 20 minutes, bus stop 12, uphill for a little bit but nothing unmanageable or water taxi from the beach. Sunbeds never an issue for us in the mornings. We found all members of staff friendly and helpful.

What did work? Well the pool area is nice and large for a place like Skiathos, gardens are well kept, food quality is alright, wifi is good, staff was friendly. What did NOT work? Biggest issue is the room, we have ground floor in the B-building which is behind the main building. Sea view.. yeah well no. The sea is somewhere there but not to be seen. Better than forest view though. The bathroom is too small even for one person, let alone for three, same goes for closets and shelves, we have far too little spaces to put our clothes in. No other than a small ”table-tte” for other things. Spare bed is very uncomfortable and loud. And the walls.. pure paper. You will wake up latest at 8:30 when the cleaning cart comes. Or when someone whispers in the corridor. The next biggest issue is the breakfast layout, everything in one crowded line, and products placed unlogically so that during rush hour it is a chaos. Glass items behind other items so that only tall people can reach them. One big glass bottle fell on the ground during our stay when a customer tried to reach for a banana and accidentally hit the bottle at the back of the table. Other issues.. pool area has nobody looking after it, so empty glasses remain by the pool until evening, also the amount of sunbeds is not sufficient for this sized hotel. There’s not enough staff, and those that try their best just take too long, mainly at the pool bar. Gym is only a small room with random equipment thrown in. Cleaning could be better, and the A/C does not seem to have a night mode even though it seems like a new machine, it’s either freezing or nothing. As a summary, a bit annoying stay here because many of the issues could be fixed EASILY. The big picture is good and this could well be the 4 star hotel they apparently are. I’d give 2, max 3 if I have a good day. It’s either that the Radisson chain does not give enough money, or there is a leadership issue. For the 270€/night (trivago) price, I expect more. And 5€ for a 0,25 coke is a rip off too.
