A fair and honest review. The Ramada Lara Beach resort is in a great position on the strip, with easy access to shops and restaurants and a short stroll across the main road to the beach (although you can easily catch the free shuttle bus to the beach every 15 minutes to and from the hotel every day). Staff work hard to keep the place spotless but a never ending battle with lots of guests in resort. This hotel is great for young families with lots going on to keep all entertain. For us, a family of 4 with 2 older teenage children, this hotel wasn’t for us. Too noisy, lots of systems not in place, especially around the main restaurant to keep things enjoyable at meal times rather than the craziness it often was with people running for food as if their life depended on it. We were at the start of peak season mid July but during a 1 week stay, we could only sit by the pools in either of the hotels ( sister hotel opposite which you also have access to) twice in the whole week. Beds were all gone by 8:30am and they were packed in like sardines everyday so not much space to put any extra beds out anyway. We resorted to the beach most days when we couldn’t get the beds by the pools, which was actually much better. More spread out, not sensory overload with all the entertainment music booming out from the speakers. Water slides are good but not well supervised and too many underage children using them with no responsible adult watching them. Main restaurant was great- good selection of food choices for all and as someone of Turkish decent, it was great to see some traditional dishes on offer too and not just chicken nugget and chips. Salad choices great, with lots of fresh meats and fish and delicious desserts, just a shame the management of the restaurant is lacking and a bit chaotic. A Maitre de welcoming guests in to the restaurant coordinating with staff to get tables set up for guests, or directing them to empty tables would have been great. Instead you had people getting their food first and finding nowhere to sit to eat as restaurant was full. To guarantee a table either arrive for 6:30pm when restaurant opens for dinner or after 8pm. We had to try two different times yesterday as no capacity at 7:30pm. Finally got a table at 8pm but leave it too late and the refresh of food doesn’t occur as regularly as earlier during service. Drink service is hit and miss- some staff take more pride in their job than others and are quick to respond. Drinks are hit and miss too - cocktails not great, wine not great - Efes beer and G&T were our best options and bars are often understaffed for volume of numbers so be prepared to wait in a queue. Personally I found the whole mealtime situation stressful apart from when we had our one a la carte meal at the Mexican restaurant which was actually a pleasant relaxing experience. Although we booked that on the day of arrival and the first available slot was 2 days before our departure. So book early to avoid disappointment. We had a family suite on the second floor, which was great but an extra bathroom would have been a bonus instead of a large living room for four adults. We were above the pool bar so quite noisy but all music stops just before 11pm. Air con works well in the rooms although we had to cover up the green light on it as it’s too bright in the dark. Wifi is ok and also available at the beach too. At busy times it does slow down but to be expected I guess. All in all, we wouldn’t come back here again. Not for our family and certainly not a place for couples either. Think we would have been better staying at an adults only place (16+) instead. Pros: - location, beach facilities, cleanliness, food choice and quality, family room well worth it a great location for young families with lots of activities available day and night Cons: noisy, too busy and badly managed main restaurant, music around pools too loud competing with water slides noise ( can be a sensory overload), lack of sunbeds around the pools for number of guests visiting unless you want a 7am mad scramble for one- which is not my idea of what a holiday should be about!
