We were worried before we came due to a lot of recent negative reviews but after we’d been here a day we were pleasantly surprised and quite happy. The good points for us: - The food was excellent, so many lovely fresh salads, fruit and traditional Turkish dishes (we love Turkish food). You can take food out of the restaurant and eat it by the pool. Tea and coffee is available at all times which is unusual. - The pool was great, always seemed clean and it has some slides which were good fun. - There’s a little beach bar which is 8 minutes walk from the hotel (or use the free shuttle bus) and everything is all inclusive there too. - The room is mostly okay but fairly basic. The bad points: - There isn’t enough bedding on the bed. There is a sheet over the mattress protector and then one towel like thing which is not big enough for two people. I asked at reception for a second one but it never came. We had to sleep under the sheet on the mattress protector and it was a constant battle to keep warm. - The communal areas have no aircon and are ridiculously hot (in July and August anyway). Walking up the stairs to your room is like walking through a sauna. - The location is bad. It’s a mile walk to any kind of nightlife or shops apart from a Carrefour supermarket. That is much cheaper than the hotel shop though. Top tips: Always pay in Lira with your credit card, it’s 20% cheaper than paying in Euros. Get the Dolmus (little white bus) to Side or Manavgat, it’s only 55 Lira. Don’t buy anything from the hotel cocktail bars, it’s ridiculously expensive. A watermelon cocktail is 20 Euros! Be warned that the alcoholic drinks in Turkey are a rip off nowadays. A 500ml bottle of Efes is around 4.50 or 5 Euros everywhere. The same bottles cost 1.50 in Carrefour though. Everyone is out to charge you silly prices for things like boat trips and jet skis. Haggle hard for a reasonable price or don’t waste your money.
