We stayed at the Residence Inn Cancun Hotel Zone for one night with our family of five after arriving on a late-night flight. We had visited this hotel four years earlier, and we were pleasantly surprised at how well-maintained and clean the property still is. It’s a great value for the price, especially for a quick overnight stay before heading to your final destination. The hotel offered a convenient shuttle to our resort the next day, and the friendly staff made our short stay comfortable and welcoming. PROS: Clean, Comfortable, and Great Amenities! Cleanliness: The hotel and our room were spotless. No major maintenance issues at all. Spacious Rooms: Our suite had plenty of space for our family, and the full kitchen was clean and well-stocked. Free Hot Breakfast: Great selection of hot and cold items—more traditional Mexican fare than American which was fine for us. Rooftop Pool & Bar: A real highlight! Beautiful views and a great space to relax after a long travel day. Warm, Helpful Staff: Everyone we interacted with was kind, especially Anna at the concierge desk—she went above and beyond by helping arrange all our transportation before we even arrived. CONS – A Few Minor Frustrations. Slow Check-In: Despite using the Marriott App to check in early, the process still took nearly 20 minutes. Early Restaurant Closing: The restaurant closed at 9:30 p.m., which was tough after a late flight—no food options were available on-site afterward. Missing Extras: We requested extra pillows and blankets but unfortunately never received them. Final Thoughts – Still Worth Booking Even with a few minor hiccups, this hotel is a reliable, clean, and comfortable choice—especially for travelers needing a short stay near the airport. The rooftop pool, friendly service, and spacious rooms make it a standout in its price range. We’d absolutely stay again.
