Greater London, England

Fabulous hotel, not very all inclusive

31 Aug 2026
Fabulous hotel, the rooms were clean and bright, grounds are nice, beautiful view over looking the sea from the buffet restaurant, however not very all inclusive, we choose all inclusive for ease but one of the restaurants you had to pay.. it only covered certain drinks,, I couldn't have a fresh orange.?? It's peak time and I found booking the a la carte restaurants frustrating, out of the 5 nights were here, we've had buffet for 3 nights, as the restaurants were fully booked, the receptions managed to book for us, I would come back but wouldn't chose all inclusive, there are so many geat places to eat very close, and Rhodes town is a short taxi ride away, (well worth a visit) but don't get ripped of with the cocktails, ask for a menu, we walked one time and rode e-bikes there. The beach is pebbles but the sea is clear, fab for wind surfing 🌊 The safe didn't work and the bath/shower is tiny, I'm not a big person, i would imagine someone larger would struggle They don't walk around asking if you want drinks like Mexico , Rhodes is a great place

Nice suites and good location

31 Aug 2026
⭐ Arrival and Room We stayed August 2026 in one of the Amus suites with a private pool and garden. On arrival at the hotel, we were taken to a separate reception. The children were given little drawstring bags full of wooden toys like dominoes, a noughts and crosses game and stacking blocks. They were very happy with them. We were also given a cold drink and a cold towel, which was something we appreciated. We were given information about the hotel and then taken to our room by a very nice young man. We were very impressed with the room upon arrival, and the size of the private pool was bigger than the photos showed. There were lots of good amenities in the room, toiletries, bathrobes, slippers, a beach bag. There was also a fruit bowl and bottle of sparkling wine on arrival. Every day the cleaners did a good job of cleaning and provided fresh towels. We were also topped up with coffee pods and a large bottle of water each day. Little daily treats like chocolates and cakes also appeared in the room and every evening a lady came and gave us chocolates and emptied the bin - I think this was the turndown service although it was a bit different to the turndown service I have experienced in other hotels. There was a minibar in the room which was pretty expensive, so we didn't use it. I kind of wish this was empty so we could put our own drinks in, as it would have been easier. I'm not sure if that's something we could have requested or not. The private pool was fantastic. There was a very strong jacuzzi jet in it, and the whole family loved having the private pool to relax in. We also had access to a large swimming pool called the Black Pool, which was reserved only for Amus suite guests. It was never busy, maybe a couple of people, but was certainly never busy and quite often empty! We didn't actually use the garden part of our suite much, but it was actually quite nice having it as it allowed us easy access to the hotel room. And whenever the kids needed the toilet or anything, we would just easily pop back to the room rather than having to use communal ones. There were some issues with the room, but they weren't anything major and not worth complaining about. The TV didn't work. I had a look at the back and it looked like the cable which connects it to the satellite had been sheared off. The sliding door for the bathroom seemed very heavy and not easy to open and close, so I'm not sure if there's a problem with the runners or something. The electronic curtain at the back door didn't seem to be hung quite right and had problems opening and closing by itself. ⭐ Food We were bed and breakfast, and the breakfast was in the Varkola restaurant, so separate from the main hotel buffet. There was a good buffet available, as well as other things you could order like pancakes and omelettes and waffles. You could also order tea and a variety of coffees, including iced coffees. Again, this was never busy, so was a pleasant experience. We only ate once the main buffet restaurant - for lunch after arriving at the hotel. I think it cost £25 per adult, £12.50 for my nine-year-old, and my six-year-old was free. We were quite late on having lunch, probably about quarter past two-ish, due to our flights. So I did feel that the buffet was a bit tired by that point. There was still good variety. My nine-year-old tried rabbit for the first time, so that's something she wouldn't usually have. We used the room service once and actually found it really good. The food was good, hot, and delivered very quickly to the room. It was also very reasonably priced. The big downside to it was, it was difficult to order. There was no information in the room regarding this. The app didn't work. (I was told it was down due to being upgraded, but it was down for the entire week we were there.) I managed to find the room service menu by Googling it. And to order it, I hit the button on the phone which said "room service". However, I had to ring probably five times before someone took my order. Overall unnecessarily difficult. ⭐ Hotel Services We only used the main ground floor pool once. It was very busy and the sunbeds weren't as comfortable as the ones we had at our private pool or the black pool. I did see people walking around trying to find sunbeds, sort of late morning, 11 o'clock, 12 o'clock time. There is actually a large stack of unused sunbeds towards the back of the pool, behind the bushes, which I'm not sure everyone was aware of being there. We didn't use the 11th floor pool or the spa, so can't comment on that, and didn't partake in any of the activities, with the exception being the mini disco. The kids did enjoy the mini disco, but it was pretty cheesy, and every night it was the same playlist in the same order. So, pretty repetitive. We used the in-house car hire desk to hire a car for a couple of days. This was 130 euros for a VW Polo for two days. It was easy to do and didn't take long to arrange. I also contacted reception on two occasions because my daughter had left her sunglasses in the restaurant and left a cuddly toy in the hall during the mini disco. Both times I was told someone would have a look and get back to me. However, no one ever did, and I ended up hunting down the items myself. We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary while in Rhodes. There wasn't any special acknowledgement of this from the hotel, so probably not something worth mentioning when booking. ⭐ Area / Beach / Day Trips There were plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. We particularly recommend La Gourmet for authentic Greek food and plenty of tabby cats for entertainment. The beach was nice but very, very pebbly. I'd read reviews about it prior to going, so purchased beach shoes for the two children, but thought me and my husband would cope. We were wrong and it was too pebbly. Luckily, the local shops do sell beach shoes for about 10 euros, so not expensive. There is also lots of sea glass to be found, which my youngest daughter loved finding, as well as an array of interesting-looking pebbles. There were a few sunbeds on the beach reserved for the suite guests again with nicer loungers. These were on a grassy area so you avoided the sand. However, I wasn't overly keen about the location of them because they backed out onto the street with only a few sparse bushes between your belongings and people walking past. There were QR codes on the tables next to the sun loungers. However, this just took you to a menu and we could not work out how to order anything and no one seemed to come around and take orders. The hotel is well-placed for going into Old Town by taxi for 15 Euro. We also visited the monastery on the hill with peacocks roaming around and walked up to the big cross which you'll see on top of the hill. We also visited the petting zoo, which I would highly recommend. The kids had a great time feeding all the animals, including lemurs and raccoons.

Amazing holiday! 🤩

31 Jul 2026
An amazing holiday made even better by wonderful people We have absolutely loved our stay at AMUS Hotel & Spa. It is a beautiful resort in a fantastic location, with delicious food, excellent restaurants and wonderful service throughout. But for us, the thing that really sets AMUS apart is its people. The staff are exceptional. From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel genuinely welcome rather than simply another hotel guest. Everyone is friendly, attentive and happy to help, whether you are in one of the restaurants, relaxing around the hotel or enjoying a day on the beach. We particularly loved the beach service — being able to order food and drinks from the friendly waiters without having to leave your sunbed is holiday luxury at its best! We have to give a very special mention to Katie, the Guest Relations Manager. Katie is one of those people who seems to instinctively know how to make guests feel special. She is incredibly warm, approachable and caring, and always takes the time to stop, chat and make sure everything is going well. Her attention and genuine kindness made us feel incredibly well looked after and added something really special to our holiday. AMUS is very lucky to have her. The food has been another highlight, with a great selection and some fantastic meals throughout our stay. The restaurant and bar teams have also been brilliant — always welcoming, cheerful and attentive. There are plenty of beautiful hotels to choose from, but it is the people who make you want to return to one. The team at AMUS have created such a friendly, relaxed atmosphere that we have felt completely at home here. Thank you to everyone who has made our holiday so memorable, and especially to Katie for taking such wonderful care of us. We will be leaving with very happy memories and already excited to return next year for the fifth time! ❤️

Perfect Relaxing Retreat during to the lovely hotel staff

31 Aug 2026
We have had the most wonderful stay at AMUS Hotel & Spa and cannot recommend it highly enough. The hotel itself is beautiful, the food is excellent and there is a fantastic choice of restaurants, but what really makes AMUS special is the staff. Everyone we have encountered has been incredibly friendly, warm and caring. Nothing ever feels like too much trouble and there is a genuine feeling that the staff want you to have the best possible holiday. From the restaurant teams to the wonderful beach service , having friendly waiters bring drinks and food to you while you relax by the sea is definitely something we could get used to! the service has been fantastic. A very special mention has to go to Katie in Customer Relations, who is an absolute credit to the hotel. She has such a warm and caring manner and has gone out of her way to make us feel genuinely seen, valued and looked after throughout our stay. It is those personal touches that turn a lovely hotel stay into something really memorable. The food has also been a real highlight. We have eaten extremely well, with plenty of choice and consistently delicious meals, and the restaurant staff have been attentive, cheerful and welcoming. AMUS manages to feel luxurious while still being wonderfully relaxed and friendly. It is the people who give the hotel its heart, and they are the reason we will leave with such happy memories. A huge thank you to Katie and the whole AMUS team for taking such wonderful care of us. We have absolutely loved our stay and would happily return. ❤️
