We chose Amus hotel & spa for our honeymoon. We originally had a room booked with a forest view and a week before our wedding decided to upgrade to all inclusive plus, and a room with a private pool and sea view. In the phonecall to upgrade we mentioned that it was our honeymoon and this message was clearly passed on, as when we were shown into our room it was decorated with scattered rose petals, swans, a spread of fresh fruits, macarons, honey and sparkling rose wine. The room itself was absolutely stunning and with an idyllic view of Turkey on the horizon. The hotel was in a convenient location within walking distance of pharmacies, clothes shops, restaurants, bars, and a bus stop. We had a choice of three restaurants, and still had access to the buffet although didn't end up visiting this at all. The food, especially in Varkarola (A La Carte) and Bakaliko (Greek restaurant) was beyond words. The service was incredibly attentive, they would never let your cup empty even if you were drinking water! Every day we came back to our room made up, new towels, bins emptied, and a different treat left for us to find. As we were in the suites we also had a member of staff (Maria) on call from 5-10pm every day, should we need anything else. As well as our private pool, we had access to their "black pool" which was lovely and quiet. There was also an adults only pool, and two pools for all guests to use - there was even a privately sectioned part of the beach across the road with a private walkway to access, so you never got bored! We made several day trips during our stay, and it wasn't too much trouble at all for the hotel staff to call you a taxi or give advice on where to go to. The weather for the first part of our stay was amazing, if anything it was warmer than typical in Rhodes for Spring but there was an amber warning for wind at the end of our stay - this was when we utilised the underground spa. As suites guests we had access to a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and I also had a lovely back and neck massage whilst my husband used the gym facilities. Our stay was made especially memorable by some of the staff we encountered who went above and beyond what they are paid to do; Manalus the bellboy who welcomed us into our room, Durmus in the Rhodian bar, Maria who looked after our rooms and brought us chocolates every evening, Makis and Aris in Varkarola, Argyro in the spa, and lastly Lia who was on the suites reception desk every night. Lia was incredible - nothing was too much trouble for her, she offered us sparkling wine and congratulated us on our arrival. If we came to her with any questions she would do her best to answer, and if she couldn't answer she would make as many phonecalls as needed to find out! She showed a genuine interest in hearing about our days, every day. Lia is an absolute credit to that team. There are of course many other wonderful staff that we didn't get the names of - a huge thank you to all at Amus for giving us a honeymoon we thought we could only ever dream of.
