Greek hospitality in a city oasis

There are so many highlights to our stay at the Rhodes Horizon City that it’s difficult to know where to begin! First of all - an adults only hotel. This very much set the restful tone for our stay - whether you are gleefully child-free or you need a break from your children/life, it’s very much an oasis of loveliness. We were greeted after a long journey by the night manager, who offered us a glass of complimentary Prosecco and a very warm welcome. Breakfast is plentiful - Greek breakfast, continental, traditional English, cereals, fresh fruits, jams, honey, olives, halva, breads. I’m a pesky vegan and the hotel has a ‘vegan and GF’ section, for those with different dietary requests. Lots of coffee and several choices for juice, including detox! The poolside was quite busy when we were there in summer, but calm too - we never struggled for a sun bed or a space in the pool, and it wasn’t raucous - just people quietly reading or swimming. Lovely. Our room was the standard double, but fresh and airy, with a balcony overlooking the pool. The mini bar was well-stocked, and gratis (but this will not be refilled each day, so don’t go crazy all at once). Bed was comfortable, and everything was very clean. Bathroom was well-maintained, as was the rest of the hotel. I used the gym a couple of times for weights and cardio, and I was very grateful for the air con! As with so many places we visited on Rhodes, the high point was hospitality. The hotel staff were always available, and genuinely helpful. I want to say a special thank you for my birthday wine, left in our room as a surprise with a lovely message. Thank you !

Loved this hotel

Spent a fortnight at this lovely, centrally placed hotel in Rhodes Town. Close to the New Town, Old Town, port and beach, all within walking distance. Had a 6th floor room overlooking the sea, which was superb, and well equipped. The buffet breakfast was excellent, the egg chef makes great omelettes, and sets you up for the day. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and the cocktails were the best we had in Rhodes. Highly recommended.

Great city hotel with everything you need

We stayed here for a few days following travelling around Rhodes and Symi and we picked this based on location and great reviews. I am pleased to report that the reviews were right and this is a central, well appointed, friendly hotel. We had a sea view room and were on the 7th floor and the views were fantastic out to sea and to the port. It was nice to sit and look out. The room was good, comfortable and good air con and shower. We slept really well and the breakfast is very good and there is something there for everyone. The breakfast was probably the most plentiful with variety and well taken case of that we had seen for the whole holidays. We enjoyed sitting outside and eating breakfast. That alongside some friendly helpful staff made for a great stay. We did not use the pool or sit around it during the day, so I have no clue on how busy it is, but you are not far to walk to the beach from here - not the best on the island but you would have a nice day in the sun! Would stay again should we be in Rhodes again.

Excellent hotel. Breakfast 5 star. Cleanliness 5 star. Staff 5 star. Air con 5 star. Location 5 star. Special mention to bar person George and waiter Ilker. Always helpful and ready for a chat. We ate in the hotel a couple of nights and we were not disappointed. The drinks in the bar are competitive too at €4.50 for a pint of lovely Mythos. There is entertainment some nights and the guitar player was very good. Nice touch by the hotel on the occasion of my birthday, a nice bottle of bubbly in the room when we returned. Room was spacious and spotlessly clean although the shower room was on the small side. The rooms have been refurbished recently to a high standard. Excellent location and 2 minutes to the beach and near where you want to be without being too noisy. Weather was 30c most days but was getting hotter on our last few days. We will return here again but not in July. Fantastic holiday.
