Another lovely RIU stay

This is one of the handful of times I have stayed at a RIU hotel in Gran Canaria, but the first time at this particular establishment. The staff were very welcoming and helpful with anything we needed. The rooms are spotless and cleaned diligently everyday. The food is excellent as always, with an array of choices available. The location is perfect - with a local shop opposite and bus routes to local attractions a 3 minute walk away. My only disappointment was that upon our last full day at the hotel I spent about an hour in the pool. This turned the tips of my bleached blonde hair green. I have not yet been able to remove this shade.

Another Fantastic Chill Out Stay at the Riu Palace Maspalomas

My wife and I visited the Riu Palace Maspalomas for the 5th time since 2010 for two weeks between 11 and 25 July. I have previously posted detailed reviews of this hotel (June 2023) so this is a fairly short review just to reinforce how highly we rate this hotel. We enjoyed another fantastic break at the Riu Palace; if you are looking for a chilled out, relaxing holiday with excellent food, a view to die for every morning you wake up (see photos) and first class service from amazing staff you can’t go wrong with this hotel. Since our last visit a couple of additional improvements to mention: - the relaxation which allows men to wear smart tailored shorts for evening dinner in the Dunas restaurant is most welcomed whilst retaining long trousers in the two bookable restaurants Krystal and El Oasis - the evening entertainment is most improved with some really good acts - the food selection in Dunas if possible has got even better with a good selection of wines at pretty reasonable prices for a hotel chain Finally I want to add a big thanks to all the staff at the hotel from the grounds staff and cleaners to the managers for a smashing stay. As I’ve said all the staff are brilliant but as ever have to give a few special mentions:- Maria and Johnny for their ever smiling faces and cheery personalities especially at breakfast and Scarlet for looking after us at dinner. Kevin and Elizabeth around the pool and El Oasis at lunch. Sara and Antonio on Reception for their help and advice and finally Santiago the pool attendant who probably goes unnoticed by most but does a sterling job with a smile on his face. Everything was perfect !

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times over the years and can honestly say it never disappoints. It's been 3 years since I was last here and things have got even better ! The refurbishment a few years ago has bedded in and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and it’s always extra nice when they remember you. I won’t be leaving it as long before I return this time ..
